Production Engineer

For our client, an established company operating in the steel and metal industry, we are recruiting a Production Engineer to join the team at their spiral welded steel pipe manufacturing facility in Giurgiu.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer with experience in industrial production, manufacturing processes or process improvement, who enjoys working directly on the production floor and contributing to operational performance and continuous improvement.

What will you do?

• Monitor daily, weekly and monthly production plans and production targets;
• Track production performance, capacity utilization, line speed, downtime and efficiency indicators;
• Analyze technical and operational issues occurring during production and identify effective solutions;
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement improvement actions;
• Contribute to reducing scrap, waste, rework and defective production;
• Support the optimization of production parameters and the introduction of new pipe diameters, wall thicknesses and production settings;
• Monitor the production flow from raw materials to finished products;
• Work closely with Production, Quality and other technical departments;
• Support the implementation of safe working practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

What are we looking for?

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical & Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering or a related field;
• Experience in industrial/manufacturing production, preferably in steel, steel pipe manufacturing, rolling mills, welded manufacturing or heavy industry;
• Experience in production processes and/or continuous improvement;
• Basic to intermediate knowledge of welding processes and quality control;
• Good MS Office skills, particularly Excel;
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
• Experience with root cause analysis and process improvement;
• Ability and willingness to work actively on the production floor;
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is an advantage;
• Advanced English.
