Job Description Summary The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift leads daily manufacturing operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and reliable production environment. This role supports combustor hardware for defense engines in Plant 2 and is responsible for supervising front-line manufacturing employees, driving consistent execution across the production line, and supporting operational performance in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The supervisor plays a key role in maintaining workflow, resolving shop-floor issues, and ensuring production goals are achieved while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. This leader must be effective in an off-shift environment, building strong working relationships across the production floor, holding the team accountable to expectations, and proactively solving problems to keep work moving. This role may also support Service Shop operations as needed. 2nd shift hours are aligned to team coverage, with the hourly team working 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM ET; this position is expected to arrive early for shift transition and remain through the end of the shift. Job Description Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily operations for the 2nd shift manufacturing team supporting Plant 2 combustors for defense engines, including oversight of approximately 15 hourly production employees. Provide visible front-line leadership in an off-shift manufacturing environment, ensuring the team is supported, engaged, and positioned to meet daily production objectives. Build strong relationships across the production floor and partner effectively with hourly employees, support functions, and adjacent teams to remove barriers and maintain workflow. Drive execution of production plans to meet business objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and productivity. Monitor daily shop operations to ensure reliability, consistency, and adherence to standard work and operating procedures. Hold employees accountable to performance expectations, standard work, safety requirements, and attendance while providing coaching, feedback, and recognition. Provide front-line leadership, coaching, and direction to employees to support engagement, development, and performance. Address production issues in real time and take initiative to solve problems within established processes to keep work moving, escalating more complex matters when needed. Partner with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, engineering, materials, and operations leadership to resolve issues and improve performance. Apply technical and operational knowledge to support policy execution, process discipline, and team effectiveness. Help identify and drive process improvements that enhance safety, reduce waste, and improve throughput. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Communicate operational priorities, performance expectations, and business updates clearly and effectively across the team. Maintain accurate documentation and support reporting, planning, and execution of operational initiatives. Adapt shift priorities and workflow sequencing as production needs change. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university OR a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of production manufacturing and/or manufacturing supervisor experience. Preferred Qualifications & Desired Characteristics Minimum of 3 years of production manufacturing and/or manufacturing supervisor experience. Prior experience leading hourly employees in a manufacturing, shop, or unionized environment. Experience in machine shop operations is preferred. Demonstrated ability to build relationships and establish credibility across the production floor Demonstrated ability to hold teams accountable while fostering a respectful, team-oriented work environment. Demonstrated ability to make decisions, solve problems, and drive results in a fast-paced production setting. Proven ability to take initiative and operate with urgency in an off-shift environment where independent decision-making and proactive problem solving are critical. Experience working across functions to support operational and business goals. Strong oral and written communication skills. Proven leadership ability with a collaborative and team-oriented approach. Operates with integrity, accountability, and respect. Strong organizational skills with the ability to document, plan, and execute effectively. Quick learner who can prioritize work strategically and adapt to changing business needs. Analytical problem solver who challenges existing processes and drives practical improvements. Sound judgment and decision-making skills within established operational frameworks. The base pay range for this position is $92,000-$115,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 16, 2026.
