Project Overview: Port Arthur LNG is a proposed natural gas liquefaction and export terminal in Southeast Texas with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. At peak construction, the project expects to create over 5,000 jobs. At full capacity, this LNG project will include two natural gas liquefaction trains capable of producing, under optimal conditions, up to approximately 13.5 million tons per annum for export around the world. Job Summary: In this role, you will perform routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities and support the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, preparation of cost data, and the project trend program. You will assist with budget allocation and developing quantity takeoffs, project codes, and application unit rates. Your work will help ensure projects stay on budget and excel. "This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”. #LI-CS1 Major Responsibilities: Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports Assists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines Supports the preparation of cost data for proposals or contracts Assists in the development of quantity takeoffs for a specific discipline or specialty Assists in developing specific project codes of accounts and recommends appropriate modifications and revisions Supports the project trend program Assists in the development and application of unit rates (cost and job hours) to quantity takeoffs Understands project financial reporting and cash flow forecasting Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing cost engineering functions, including cost estimating, cost control, financial reporting systems, and cost analysis at a jobsite location Skilled in oral and written communication Proficiency in using PC operating systems, including several basic software applications Proficiency in using multiple discipline-specific software applications currently used by Bechtel (Ecosys, Hyperion, Digital Supply Chain, for example). Intermediate level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction, and startup work processes, as performed by Bechtel Experience on major lump sum projects with direct hire construction strategy is preferred Knowledge of LNG projects and jobsite experience is preferred Proactive self-starter with a proven ability to work independently and efficiently Excellent verbal and written communication skills to present data and analysis to project team, PC, and other management groups as required Preferred Skills LNG Experience Project controls experience in either cost or scheduling Proficient in Microsoft Excel with working knowledge of Power BI Financial experience including project financial reporting and Hyperion knowledge. Ideal candidate will have familiarity with large scale LNG projects and experience with dealing with the client, including firm knowledge of design and experience with project controls tools and systems being utilized on the program as well as project financial reporting.
