Mission TAR’s mission is to power intelligence for the world. We are building the world’s first off-grid power plant for data centers powered by renewable technologies. We firmly believe AI should be built in the US for the benefit of all people. For that, power must be fast, clean and scalable. We are singularly focused on delivering GW-scale power faster than anyone has ever done, by rethinking every layer of the stack. We vertically integrate to solve every bottleneck, from racking systems to power electronics to dispatch algorithms to on-site construction. Leave your mark on the future of civilization-scale energy infrastructure. Company TAR is both a hardware and software company, we are building out massive, critical, physical infrastructure. (TAR is working directly with one of the largest compute providers to scale and deploy 5GWs by 2028) We operate on… High ownership. High Agency. Own project end-to-end. Great people don’t need to be managed. Speed. We achieve great things on incredible timelines. We push ourselves to go faster. First principles. No ego. No hierarchy. Challenge every assumption. Passion. Solving the energy problem is one of the largest challenges that faces the world now and in the future. About the role As Project Manager, you own day-to-day execution of our utility-scale renewable energy projects, keeping the assigned project on target schedule and budget from initial planning through commissioning. Because TAR runs an owner-led, EPCM-as-agent delivery model, you administer EPC contracts and coordinate suppliers, engineers, and field crews directly rather than reviewing a contractor’s work from a distance. This is a role for an experienced project manager, based in Austin with regular time at the project site in West Texas. Responsibilities Build the project schedule, maintain it as the single source of truth from initial planning through commissioning, and drive engineering, procurement, and construction workstreams to hold the critical path. Control project costs by tracking budgets and forecasts, managing change orders, and surfacing variances early enough for the team to act on them. Administer EPC contracts directly under our owner-led delivery model, holding contractors accountable to scope, schedule, and quality. Coordinate supply chain, engineering, commissioning, and field resources, and identify potential gaps before they arise. Manage scope creep, negotiate change orders, Identify project risks, build mitigation plans, and drive them to closure with the owners of the underlying work. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in project management roles. Project management experience on utility-scale solar+PV projects. Proficiency in Microsoft Project or Primavera P6. Experience administering EPC contracts, including scope, change orders, and contractor performance management. Strong understanding of schedule analysis and project baselines. Sound judgment with a bias toward action, comfortable making high-consequence decisions with incomplete information on a compressed schedule. Nice to have Experience delivering multi-generation source medium-large scale microgrids. Experience on multi-hundred-megawatt projects. Owner-side experience at a developer or IPP.
