QA Lead

We’re looking for a QA Lead who combines strong testing expertise with the ability to build better quality practices across a team.

This isn’t a role focused purely on finding bugs. We’re looking for someone who understands where quality effort has the biggest impact, can make smart decisions around risk, and can build processes that help a team consistently deliver a great player experience.

You’ll own quality for a live Unity game built around deep, complex systems — with dozens of characters, abilities, and interactions that create a huge number of possible outcomes. With new content and updates continuously being released, maintaining quality across the game and supporting reliable releases will be at the heart of this role.

What You Will Be Doing

• Define and drive our QA strategy, identifying where automation adds value and where human testing provides the most impact.
• Work closely with Engineering to improve testability across the game, ensuring quality is considered throughout development rather than as a final step.
• Maintain confidence in our automated testing processes, ensuring test results are reliable, actionable, and trusted by the team.
• Own QA triage and release decisions, helping teams understand risk, prioritise issues, and make informed decisions around shipping.
• Improve and maintain QA tools, workflows, and processes to make testing efficient and effective.
• Partner with our outsourced QA team to ensure testing efforts are focused, valuable, and aligned with project needs.
• Provide meaningful quality insights through reporting, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement, as well as help raise the quality bar across the studio by coaching teams, improving practices, and building a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility.
  
  

Requirements

• Strong experience in the games industry, with experience shipping and supporting live games. Experience in mobile free-to-play is highly desirable.
• A senior QA background with strong testing fundamentals and the ability to think strategically about quality across complex systems.
• Proven leadership experience, with the ability to influence teams, drive improvements, and establish effective QA practices.
• Technical understanding of QA automation and testability, with the ability to collaborate effectively with engineers. Hands-on automation experience is a bonus.
• Strong judgement around testing approaches — understanding when automation is valuable and when exploratory, player-focused testing is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Engineering, Design, Production, and Leadership teams.

• Experience working with Unity projects and development pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with automation, scripting, or QA tooling.
• Experience supporting live-service games, including patches, hotfixes, and ongoing stability improvements.
• Experience with console certification processes.
