The Company

Our client is an established international engineering company specialising in the development and manufacture of power supply and power conversion products for a range of applications, including industrial, IT, medical, electro-mobility, household and solar.


As part of the continued development of its Quality Assurance and Laboratory team, the company is looking for a hands-on Quality Assurance Engineer to join its operation in Ireland.


The Role

This is a hands-on electronics quality and testing position focused on ensuring products meet the required performance, reliability and quality standards.


You will be involved in design and production verification testing, electronic troubleshooting, field failure investigation, root-cause analysis and automated testing, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers and other internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Design Verification Testing and Production Verification Testing on electronic components and systems, including functional, performance and reliability testing.
  • Perform production quality control and sample testing in line with defined production test plans.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot electronic product failures and defects.
  • Analyse field returns, identify root causes and support corrective and preventive actions.
  • Prepare 8D reports and repair returned units where appropriate.
  • Create, maintain and update test programs for automated product testing.
  • Adapt automated test programs and develop new test jigs where required.
  • Support verification of engineering changes and alternative electronic components.
  • Carry out incoming material inspections against drawings and order requirements.
  • Provide quality-related reports and feedback to suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate records of test results, quality assessments and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure laboratory documentation and records remain up to date and audit-ready.
  • Support continuous improvement activities across electronic product quality and testing.
  • Maintain test databases and ensure test records are available for ongoing review.
  • Support laboratory activities relating to ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and relevant health and safety requirements.


Your Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Hands-on experience in electronic testing, verification, troubleshooting or quality engineering.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving capability.
  • Experience with root-cause analysis and investigating electronic product failures.
  • Comfortable working hands-on with electronic products and test equipment.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of electronic product quality.


Highly Relevant Experience

Experience in the following areas would be particularly relevant:

  • Electronic product debugging and troubleshooting
  • Test and verification
  • Field failure/field return investigation
  • Root-cause analysis
  • Automated testing and test program development
  • Developing or modifying test jigs
  • Electronic product quality and reliability testing
  • Experience with LabVIEW would be an advantage.
