This is an exciting opportunity to join Haleon’s Levice site as Quality Control Manager, a highly visible leadership role where you will help shape laboratory operations, strengthen its quality systems, drive compliance and performance at one of Haleon’s key manufacturing locations. This role is ideal for an ambitious Quality Control leader who enjoys combining people leadership, technical expertise, operational impact, and continuous improvement. You will lead a multidisciplinary QC team, strengthen laboratory performance, support innovation and digital transformation, and help ensure that products trusted by consumers every day are tested, released, and managed to the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance. Purpose of the Role As Quality Control Manager, you will lead and develop the Quality Control organization at Haleon Levice, ensuring that raw materials, components, intermediates, and finished products, meet required quality standards through robust analytical, microbiological, and other testing activities. You will play a key role in building a modern, inspection-ready, and future-focused QC function that supports site performance, regulatory compliance, operational excellence, and consumer trust. Working closely with Site Quality Leadership and cross-functional partners, you will help embed strong GMP, HACCP, ISO, Medical Device, and Cosmetics compliance practices across laboratory and manufacturing operations. Key Responsibilities Quality Control Leadership Lead Quality Control operations across analytical, microbiological, raw material, component, intermediate, and finished product testing, ensuring results are reliable, timely, compliant, and aligned with Haleon standards and applicable regulatory expectations. Ensure QC operations remain inspection-ready and compliant with relevant requirements, including GMP, HACCP, ISO standards, Medical Device Regulations, Cosmetics Regulations, and other applicable quality frameworks. Provide strong technical and quality leadership to support safe, compliant, and efficient manufacturing and laboratory operations. People Leadership Lead, inspire, and develop a Quality Control team of approximately 20 professionals, building capability, engagement, accountability, and a strong culture of collaboration. Create an environment where people feel supported, empowered to improve, and encouraged to challenge the status quo while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance. Strengthen team capability through coaching, talent development, succession planning, and continuous learning. Laboratory Excellence & Digital Innovation Support the continued development of smart laboratory operations by leveraging data, digital tools, automation, modern IT technologies, and innovative ways of working. Use KPIs, performance trends, and data insights to improve laboratory lead times, right-first-time performance, schedule adherence, deviation reduction, and overall QC effectiveness. Drive modernization and continuous improvement of laboratory systems, equipment, processes, and documentation to ensure they remain robust, efficient, and fit for the future. Compliance, Investigations & CAPA Lead and support effective laboratory investigations, deviations, out-of-specification events, and CAPA processes to ensure timely, science-based, and sustainable resolution. Promote a strong risk-based approach to quality decision-making, ensuring issues are escalated appropriately and recurrence is prevented. Strengthen quality systems by ensuring investigation outcomes and CAPAs drive meaningful and lasting improvements. Continuous Improvement & Transformation Champion continuous improvement across QC operations, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, improve performance, reduce waste, and strengthen compliance. Contribute to the site’s ambition to become a benchmark for Quality and operational excellence through innovation, digitalization, and best-practice adoption. Support site transformation initiatives, growth projects, and laboratory investment programs, ensuring Quality Control is embedded early and effectively in project delivery. Safety, HACCP & Environmental Programs Champion a strong Health & Safety culture within the laboratory, ensuring risks are proactively identified, managed, and reduced. Support strong HACCP and GMP practices across site and laboratory operations, helping ensure products are manufactured and tested in a safe, compliant, and high-quality environment. Provide QC leadership for relevant environmental monitoring, hygiene, contamination control, and site quality programs. Business & Stakeholder Leadership Manage the Quality Control budget and investments to support modern, compliant, and effective laboratory facilities, systems, equipment, and capabilities. Partner closely with Site Quality Leadership, Operations, Technical, Engineering, EHS, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to strengthen collaboration and deliver site priorities. Represent the site with regulatory authorities, industry partners, and external stakeholders as required, bringing external insights, benchmarks, and best practices into laboratory operations. Why you? Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with the following skills and experience: University degree in Science, Chemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, or a relevant technical field. Fluent Slovak and English, written and spoken. At least 5 years of management and leadership experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment. Significant experience within regulated manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of cGMP, ISO requirements, HACCP principles, and other applicable quality and regulatory frameworks. Proven direct people leadership experience, with the ability to engage, develop, and lead high-performing teams. Demonstrated problem-solving capability, with the ability to use data and insights to support tactical and strategic decision-making. Strong project management, communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to manage priorities, work under pressure, and deliver results in a complex and fast-moving environment. Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across functions and promote company values. Digital and IT mindset, with curiosity and ability to leverage modern technologies to improve laboratory operations and decision-making. Preferred Qualifications The following would be advantageous: Experience leading laboratory transformation, digitalization, automation, or operational excellence initiatives. Experience working in smart laboratories, highly automated laboratories, or technologically advanced manufacturing environments. Strong experience with laboratory performance management, including KPIs, data trending, deviation reduction, and schedule adherence. Experience representing Quality Control during regulatory inspections, audits, or external assessments. Experience supporting environmental monitoring, microbiology, HACCP, contamination control, and site hygiene programs within regulated industries such as consumer healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices, cosmetics, food, or related sectors.
