Radiographer/Mammographer
St Helena Island, South Atlantic

Total package value up to £71k per annum depending on experience and qualifications. The package is inclusive of International Supplement based on family status, Relocation costs and Pension contribution.
Enjoying unique lifestyle opportunities, St Helena Island is a self-governing overseas territory of the United Kingdom. Although better placed to develop economically and socially as a result of opening our international airport in 2017, we are not at the stage of self-sufficiency and therefore remain dependent on UK government aid. The 23-bed General Hospital in the capital, Jamestown, covers all areas of acute medical and surgical care.
In this vital role you will help to develop the existing radiology service to meet changing needs, ensuring the department is IRR 2017 and IR(ME)R 2017 compliant, with QA and audit.
Your time will be divided between providing radiography services in x-ray, CT and mammography, teaching and professional development of nurses and students, producing and updating protocols and guidelines and participating in clinical and staff meetings. You will share on-call cover arrangements for out-of-hours emergencies.
Holding a Diploma from the College of Radiographers or BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent, you are a State Registered Radiographer with a current registration certificate or equivalent. You have knowledge of PACS plus substantial post-qualification experience in general radiography including CT and mammography.
In addition, you must demonstrate our core values of fairness, integrity and teamwork and use your diverse expertise and experiences to ensure your time on the Island has the broadest benefit to St Helena. As an officer funded through the Technical Co-Operation Programme you will be expected to share your knowledge and skills beyond the workplace contributing to workforce, community and capacity development in St Helena.
