Job Summary

Are you an experienced radiotherapy professional looking for an opportunity to lead and develop a specialist service that makes a lasting difference to patients?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Radiotherapy Late Effects Manager to provide clinical and operational leadership for our Radiotherapy Late Effects Service, working as part of the wider South West Radiotherapy Late Effects Service (SWRLES).

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the continued development of a service supporting people living with the longer-term effects of radiotherapy. You will provide expert assessment, advice and management of complex late effects, lead new patient and follow-up clinics, and help develop innovative support, education and wellbeing services for patients and their families.

You will work autonomously while collaborating closely with clinical multidisciplinary teams. You will also build effective partnerships across the Trust, primary care, voluntary organisations and regional services

As a recognised expert you will play a key role in developing standards of care, supporting colleagues through education and training, contributing to audit and research, and ensuring the service continues to evolve in response to evidence and patient need.

If you are passionate about specialist clinical practice, service improvement and delivering excellent survivorship care, we would love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

As Radiotherapy Late Effects Manager, you will provide specialist clinical and operational leadership for the service, combining advanced clinical practice with service development and professional leadership.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Leading the clinical work and day-to-day organisation of the Radiotherapy Late Effects Service.
  • Running new patient and follow-up clinics and undertaking specialist assessment of complex radiotherapy late effects.
  • Providing expert advice on symptom and side-effect management, recommending and reviewing treatment and care interventions.
  • Assessing patients' psycho-social needs and coordinating appropriate onward referrals and support.
  • Developing well-being clinics, patient support events and opportunities for rapid re-access to the service.
  • Working collaboratively with clinical oncology, radiotherapy and wider multidisciplinary teams.
  • Leading service improvement, clinical governance, audit, evaluation and research relevant to late effects.
  • Developing education and training for staff and wider healthcare professionals.
  • Working with the South West Radiotherapy Late Effects Service to promote consistent standards, expertise and data collection across the region.
  • Using patient feedback and engagement to ensure service development is driven by patient need.
