Job Description R&D Technician (Installers Should Apply) Overview We are looking for a hands-on and experienced R&D Technician with real-world car audio installation experience who is interested in transitioning into the manufacturing and product development side of the industry. This is a critical role within the company that bridges real-world installation knowledge with innovation and product development. The ideal candidate understands what installers and customers truly need because they have firsthand experience working in the field. While occasional installs will still be required to stay current with industry trends and installation practices, the primary focus of this role will be assisting in the research, development, testing, and improvement of new products including subwoofers, enclosures, speakers, amplifiers, and related audio solutions. Responsibilities Assist in the research, development, testing, and improvement of new car audio products including subwoofers, enclosures, speakers, amplifiers, and accessories. Provide real-world installer insight and feedback during product development and testing phases. Perform product testing, troubleshooting, and validation to ensure quality, performance, and ease of installation. Support customer service with technical answers to customer questions related to car audio products and installations. Assist in developing installation procedures, fitment recommendations, troubleshooting guides, and technical documentation. Review technical content written by peers and suppliers to ensure accuracy and industry relevance. Enter and verify vehicle specifications and vehicle-specific product information within the automotive database. Add useful product features, specifications, and compatibility information for customer reference. Participate in occasional installs and field testing to maintain hands-on industry knowledge and stay current with installation techniques and trends. Collaborate closely with engineering, product development, and marketing teams to improve products based on installer and customer feedback. Qualifications Real-world experience in Car Audio Installation is strongly preferred. Installers are highly encouraged to apply. Passion for car audio, fabrication, product innovation, and hands-on problem solving. 5 years of experience in Automotive or Car Audio Installation. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred, but equivalent hands-on industry experience will also be considered. Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities. Conversational English communication skills. Typing Certification required: minimum 40 WPM net of errors (50 WPM recommended). Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Familiarity with subwoofers, amplifiers, enclosures, DSPs, speakers, and vehicle integration is a strong advantage.
