Hours: 37.5 hours per week, including flexibility to participate in an on-call rota

Not For Profit People are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading women's charity for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a specialist Residential Family Centre in Plymouth.

You'll oversee a dedicated, trauma-informed team delivering residential support, pregnancy stabilisation, and comprehensive parenting assessments that help families build safer, brighter futures.

The Role

As Registered Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the leadership, quality and compliance of the Residential Family Centre, ensuring the highest standards of care, safeguarding and service delivery.

You'll be responsible for:

• Leading the day-to-day operation of the Residential Family Centre.
• Ensuring full compliance with Ofsted regulations and all relevant legislation.
• Creating a safe, nurturing and trauma-informed environment for mothers and their children.
• Leading, developing and supporting a multidisciplinary staff team.
• Overseeing parenting assessments and individual support plans.
• Driving service quality, continuous improvement, audits and inspections.
• Maintaining robust safeguarding procedures and effective risk management.
• Managing budgets, occupancy levels and operational performance.
• Building positive relationships with families, commissioners, regulators and partner agencies.
• Participating in the on-call rota and providing operational leadership when required.

About You

We're looking for a compassionate, resilient and confident leader with a passion for improving outcomes for women and children.

You'll have:

• At least two years' experience working in residential childcare within the last five years.
• A minimum of one year's supervisory or management experience.
• An NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be working towards it, or willing to begin within six months of appointment. Alternatively, you'll hold Social Work England registration or an equivalent relevant professional registration.
• Strong knowledge of Ofsted standards, residential childcare legislation and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading and motivating teams within a regulated environment.
• Excellent understanding of safeguarding, risk management and person-centred practice.
• Strong communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills.
• A commitment to trauma-informed, strengths-based practice.
