Job Description Summary As a Senior Technical Advisor in the GE Steam Power Nuclear in Ontario, Canada, your role is a dedicated technical owner directly engaging with both internal and external customers while delivering safe, quality, on time, profitable core outage services and upgrades on GE’s nuclear installed base of steam turbines, generators, and balance-of-plant components located in Darlington Nuclear Power Station. This demanding role will require you to function effectively in a broad and matrixed environment. You bring strong field engineering, technical direction, and/or outage management knowledge on steam turbines and generators to this critical role. You have experience with field services, manufacturing and/or repairs, and parts. You have experience with Alstom BBC steam turbines, generators, and balance of plant. You have the proven ability to manage execution teams in coordination with technical requirements. You have effective leadership skills, including strong influencing ability and direct team management. You appreciate the value and diversity of people and the importance of their development and contributions. Your Role: SME for install/maintenance services during R process. Attend pre-proposal and negotiation meetings, develop scope and schedule, loadboard, JCE, tooling, quotes, parts, resources, deliverables. Job Site/Outage planning PRIOR to mobilize. Generate JIS, Labor and Specialty Service requests. Coordinate Design Eng. / Customer coord / Pre Site work (T-12, T-6) / Coordinate Lean Outage Risk and Protectivity (LORaP) workshops. Request internal and external POs. Outage Planning: Work order task plans, considering safety requirements, equipment availability, parts on hand, tooling, specialty services and resources. Ensure Development One EHS plan upon site mobilization prior to outage start. Development and management of costs with ongoing estimates to completion. Development, planning and management of the project schedules and payment milestones, while providing contingency planning where required, to ensure a timely execution. Risk and Opportunity management. Ensuring that all risks and issues are identified, and mitigation plans developed. Issue resolution during project execution – includes Safety/HOP/Quality/FME/Generate NCR’s/Parts/Product Service/Engineering/Controls/Commercial etc. To provide accurate management reports of all assigned projects Ensure all project authorization is secured both technically and financially To communicate effectively with all the stakeholders, both internal and external. Manage the Scope Change Authorization process for all assigned projects. Provide project leadership and guidance from project conception through to project delivery; to the customer and to conduct project feedback reviews at the appropriate time. It is expected that this position will act as the focus on project-based activities and perform other related duties as assigned or requested Ensure completion of project field services report, execution of ETC 127 process for engineering documentation of changes, Generate POR Document, Project close out, generate, BP, LL’s and OE summary. Maintain excellent relations with customers and peers. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University or College OR (a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a customer-facing role OR an associate degree and a minimum of 15 years of experience in a customer-facing role) At least 5 additional years of experience in a customer facing role in the power generation industry. Willingness and ability to relocate to Bowmanville, ON to maintain daily site physical presence and interaction with customer team during outages as well as during non-outage time. Willingness and ability to respond to customer issues regardless of day and time. The ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access at a Darlington nuclear facility. Experience with Alstom BBC steam turbine and generator maintenance is a must Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) preferred. Field Engineer or comparable experience in turbine and generator maintenance and/or installation. Knowledge & experience within the nuclear power environment / nuclear plant operations. Knowledge of steam turbine and generator design, operations, and maintenance. Experience planning and successfully executing outages. Strong project management acumen. Strong quality background with Lean and/or Black Belt certification. Strong leadership, financial, and commercial skills including familiarity with / ability to quickly learn P6, RPDM, MSOffice, Excel, and other software packages. Team leader in a changing and matrixed environment. Demonstrated strong communication & organizational skills. Experience establishing credibility; developing and maintaining relationships with challenging internal and external customers. For candidates applying to a Canadian-based position, the pay range for this position is between $102,200 - $152,200 CAD. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. Bonus eligibility: AIP 10% This posting is for an existing vacancy.
