This Neuro Specialty Unit will take a mix of higher acuity patients to include long term trachs and drips that need monitoring. RNs will be given the option to float to the ICU once a month to take a tier I ICU assignment to keep skills sharp. New graduates and experienced RN’s are encouraged to apply. CHF, renal failure, GI bleeds, Respiratory failure, heart failure, pulmonary disease and other acute or chronic illnesses. *Effectively communicates and assists other members of nursing team and/or other disciplines. Actively participates in problem solving and conflict resolution to maintain team cohesiveness. *Performs on-call duties effectively with the ability to triage patients over the phone and visit when needed. *Directs own educational needs for the top 10 ICD9 codes and/or diagnoses for diabetes, wounds/post-surgical, arthritis, newborns, Coumadin dependency, malnutrition/ nutrition needs, medication instruction, pain and symptom control/hospice care. *Supervises the home health aides in compliance with the Medicare/Medicaid rules and regulations. *Performs other functions as required. Qualifications: Education: *Minimum Associate Degree *Degree from accredited academic nursing program preferred Education specialization: * Nursing Credentials: * Registered Nurse-NM *State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License Academic Preparation: BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire We're all about well-being, starting with yours.
