Job Summary and Responsibilities As our RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, serving as a vital clinical resource and professional role model. Every day you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care delivery, act as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team, authorize work procedures, assign duties, manage as shift charge, and actively take patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity, all while promoting patient well-being and adhering to professional standards. Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome. Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift. Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met. Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care. Liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team. Schedule: 36hrs/wk-Variable shifts per surgical volume and current unit needs. Call required approx. 5-7 call shifts per Month. Call schedule in rotation with team. With a specific focus on the Robotics service line, this role is responsible for maintaining daily operational efficiencies, overseeing the necessary supplies and instruments, and managing surgeon preference cards to ensure procedural accuracy. You will serve as the primary liaison between surgeons and staff, facilitating communication and ensuring that service line needs are consistently met. As a key member of the leadership team, you will assist in staff scheduling, provide support for departmental training and competency evaluations, and contribute to the development of educational programs and best practices. This position acts as a vital department resource, providing clinical leadership and guidance, while also offering hands-on assistance across all surgical service lines as needed to maintain department flow and high-quality patient care.
