RN Clinical Coordinator Operating Room

Job Summary and Responsibilities As our RN Clinical Coordinator, you will actively support the department director/manager by coordinating clinical and department activities for the unit, serving as a vital clinical resource and professional role model. Every day you will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, ensure high-quality care delivery, act as a crucial link between physicians and the patient care team, authorize work procedures, assign duties, manage as shift charge, and actively take patient assignments based on unit needs and acuity, all while promoting patient well-being and adhering to professional standards. To be successful in this role, you will be a Registered Nurse with exceptional clinical skills, strong leadership potential, superior communication and collaboration abilities, and an unwavering commitment to ethical practice, quality patient care, and a supportive team environment. Assesses patient’s physical, psychosocial, cultural and spiritual needs through observation, interview, review of medical records & clinical data. Evaluates patient’s response and intervenes to ensure optimal patient outcome. Develop and implement patient plan of care and observe outcomes in accordance with nursing standards and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. Provides leadership, support, and coordination of unit’s daily operations during designated shift. Assists in directing, organizing, and prioritizing all shift activities ensuring patient care and staff needs are met. Ensures appropriateness of admissions/cases to the unit/department and that appropriate staff skill mix exists to provide safe patient care. Liaison to the multidisciplinary patient care team. We are offering a $10,000 Sign on bonus in addition up to $10,000 relocation assistance to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements. Schedule: 36hrs/wk-Variable shifts per surgical volume and current unit needs. Call required approx. 5-7 call shifts per Month. Call schedule in rotation with team. Sleeping room available This position will also be eligible for the Clinical Ladder Job Requirements Required Associate's Degree in Nursing or by endorsement One (1) year of clinical RN experience RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Nursing Specialty Certification Previous OR experience across multiple service lines highly preferred Previous leadership experience preferred- Either Charge RN or Service line leader Where You’ll Work The Clinical Coordinator for the Operating Room at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City provides operational leadership for a surgical department featuring 4 OR suites and 1 GI suite, supporting a steady volume of 250–300+ cases per month. With a specific focus on the Robotics service line, this role is responsible for maintaining daily operational efficiencies, overseeing the necessary supplies and instruments, and managing surgeon preference cards to ensure procedural accuracy. You will serve as the primary liaison between surgeons and staff, facilitating communication and ensuring that service line needs are consistently met. As a key member of the leadership team, you will assist in staff scheduling, provide support for departmental training and competency evaluations, and contribute to the development of educational programs and best practices. This position acts as a vital department resource, providing clinical leadership and guidance, while also offering hands-on assistance across all surgical service lines as needed to maintain department flow and high-quality patient care.
