This specialized nursing role combines clinical expertise with a focus on patient safety to provide high-quality care and support to pregnant women and their families, adhering to departmental, institutional, regional and Federal clinical and ethical standards. The perinatal safety nurse will participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance perinatal care processes and outcomes, contributing to a culture of safety within the healthcare facility. As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for: Facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the patient. Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act. Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. Job Requirements In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified nursing candidates will need the following: Education Requirements Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing required Master’s degree or higher preferred Experience Requirements A minimum of 5 years as a clinician in Women’s Services A minimum of 1 years of project experience in Women and Infants Perinatal Safety with 2 years preferred Experience with quality improvement/process improvement techniques, project/program management experience, required Licenses/Certification Requirements Current RN License in applicable State Certification in one of the following (must obtain within 6 months): CCRN-NEO, C-EFM, RN-BC MCN, RN-BC-PERI, RNC [OB, GYN, NEONATAL], RNC-LRN, RNC-MNN, RNC-NIC, RNC-OB, C-EFM, CONQS BLS NRP within 90 days Physical Requirements Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) Where You’ll Work At CommonSpirit Mountain Region, we believe in the healing power of humanity and serving the common good through our dedicated work and shared mission to celebrate humankindness. OB Post-Partum The OB Post-Partum department at Mercy Regional Medical Center is a 13-bed unit with about 80 deliveries a month. LDRP, circulate and PACU recovery for C-sections, antepartum, OB triage and outpatient procedures. We are the only Labor and Delivery unit in town, so we care for everyone low risk to high risk. We do not receive overflow from other departments. Our mission is to give everyone the birth experience they are looking for whether it is all-natural with our midwife group or a high-risk pregnancy with our OBGYN group and everything in between.
