Robotics QA Engineer

We are looking for a Robotics QA Engineer to work in Lisbon (Hybrid) who's eager to embark on an exciting new opportunity! 💪

What is this challenge about

• Validate robot behaviour in simulation environments;

• Develop Python-based automated validation scripts;

• Execute and maintain regression test suites;

• Verify navigation, localisation, obstacle avoidance and safety-related functionality;

• Interact directly with ROS Topics, Services and Actions during testing;

• Analyse ROS Bags, application logs and simulation outputs;

• Investigate software failures and perform root cause analysis;

• Create realistic test scenarios and reproduce complex software defects;

• Translate customer issues into automated simulation tests;

• Maintain structured test repositories and Jira test cycles;

• Map software releases against validation coverage and test results;

• Support release readiness assessments;

• Collaborate closely with Robotics, Backend, Frontend, DevOps and QA teams to continuously improve product quality;

• Provide quality feedback throughout the software development lifecycle;

• Spend approximately 70% of the role on hands-on validation and automation work.

What we are looking for

• Robotics software experience;

• ROS1 and/or ROS2;

• Python and test automation;

• Gazebo / Ignition Gazebo;

• Simulation-based validation;

• ROS Topics, Services, Actions and Parameters;

• Navigation and localisation concepts;

• Test case design, regression testing and defect management;

• Jira and preferably Xray/Zephyr;

• Ability to investigate technical issues independently.

Nice to have

• AMRs / AGVs / Fleet Management;

• VDA 5050;

• SLAM / sensor fusion;

• Docker / Kubernetes / GitHub Actions;

• Hardware-in-the-Loop;

• Performance / cybersecurity / API testing;

• Playwright.
