Ruby on Rails Developer

Location: Veldhoven, Netherlands (hybrid — onsite days required)

Role Overvie

We're looking for an experienced Ruby on Rails Developer to join a fast-paced engineering team within a global high-tech manufacturing organisation. You'll work on building and maintaining scalable web applications that support critical internal business processes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Ruby on Rails applications, ensuring high performance and scalability
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code following best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (product, QA, DevOps) in an Agile/Scrum environment
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical design decisions
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise existing applications
• Integrate with RESTful APIs and third-party services
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
• Strong understanding of MVC architecture, RESTful design, and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL)
• Experience with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS; React or similar a plus)
• Familiarity with Git, automated testing (RSpec), and CI/CD tools
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams
• Good communication skills in English

Nice to Have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Exposure to microservices architecture)
• Background in a large, international enterprise environment
