The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team within the Macmillan Day Bed Unit at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. As a valued member of the team, you will deliver high-quality, clinically effective patient care and work with patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT) and those at various stages of their cancer journey. This role offers a varied caseload to help develop your skills, capabilities, and experience.
All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
- Permanent, Full-time
- Shift Pattern - 0800-1800 & 1000-2000 Monday Saturday
- Base location - Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, clinically effective patient care at all times.
- Provide care for patients receiving Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies (SACT), including chemotherapy.
- Support patients at different stages of their cancer treatment and care journey.
- Contribute effectively as part of the multidisciplinary team.
- Maintain accurate written records and apply numeracy skills in clinical practice.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential
- Current NMC registration.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good written communication skills.
- Good numeracy skills.
Desirable
- Experience working in an oncology healthcare setting.
Training/Development
- Opportunity to gain experience caring for patients undergoing cancer treatment and to further develop oncology-related knowledge and clinical skills.
