About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sales Manager to lead our sales operations across our Houston and Dallas branches. This role is responsible for driving sales growth, managing a team of approximately 12 sales professionals, coaching and developing staff, and ensuring excellent customer service within the Asian food distribution industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a sales leader with experience in food distribution who enjoys building high-performing teams while expanding business relationships throughout Texas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Houston and Dallas sales teams to achieve monthly and annual sales targets.
• Establish sales quotas and monitor team performance through sales analysis and reporting.
• Develop strategies to increase revenue and improve profitability.
• Coach, mentor, and motivate sales representatives to maximize performance.
• Support key customer negotiations, account strategies, marketing initiatives, and proposal development.
• Collaborate with the Purchasing Department to forecast inventory needs and manage products with limited availability.
• Ensure timely payment collection while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Research market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities.
• Represent the company at industry trade shows and business events.
• Resolve customer concerns and product-related issues.
• Recruit, interview, onboard, and train new sales employees.
• Conduct weekly sales meetings and provide ongoing coaching and performance feedback.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Attend semi-annual inventory counts (may include weekends).
• Safely operate and maintain a company vehicle in accordance with company policy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

Required

• Minimum 5 years of sales experience in the food industry
• At least 3 years of people management experience
• Knowledge of Japanese food products and alcoholic beverages
• Business-level English
• Business-level Japanese or Mandarin Chinese
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to travel throughout Texas as needed

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field
• Experience in Asian food import, wholesale, or distribution
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central, SAP, or other ERP systems
