The opportunity

A leading international pharmaceutical organisation is hiring an SAP Solution Architect to own and develop its SAP Warehouse Management and Materials Management solutions.

You will provide functional and technical leadership across SAP WM/MM projects, support operations and continuous improvement. Working within the Business Applications function, you will connect business requirements with practical SAP solutions across warehousing, manufacturing, logistics and procurement.

This role suits an experienced SAP WM/MM professional who can combine hands-on process knowledge with solution design, project leadership and international stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and functional leadership for SAP WM/MM.
• Own solution design for implementation, rollout, enhancement and support initiatives.
• Translate warehouse, logistics and procurement requirements into scalable SAP solutions.
• Promote SAP best practices and harmonise processes across international sites.
• Assess technical changes within a mixed on-premise and cloud SAP landscape.
• Coordinate business stakeholders, key users, technical teams and project streams.
• Manage continuous-improvement activities and prioritise change requests.
• Support complex production issues and ensure the stability of business-critical applications.
• Coordinate external implementation partners and downstream-system integrations.
• Maintain clear functional specifications, solution documentation and architectural decisions.
• Ensure solutions are practical, maintainable and aligned with wider business and IT standards.

Essential experience

• At least five years of SAP WM/MM consulting, implementation or support experience.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse-management and materials-management processes.
• Experience designing and configuring SAP solutions.
• Delivery experience across implementation, rollout, upgrade or transformation projects.
• Experience managing SAP support operations and resolving complex functional issues.
• Understanding of integration between WM/MM and related SAP or third-party systems.
• Ability to lead workshops and translate business needs into functional designs.
• Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent professional English.

Desirable experience

• SAP MM Purchasing and procure-to-pay.
• SAP S/4HANA implementation or migration.
• Integration with PP, QM, SD, EWM or external logistics systems.
• Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, life-sciences or regulated-industry experience.
• Multi-site or international process harmonisation.
• Previous experience as a Solution Architect, Functional Lead or Application Owner.
• Technical or IT-focused higher education.
• German language skills.
