The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. This position reports to (supervisor) Heather Freiheit Function/Duties of Position Clinical Activities ( not related to teaching or research ): Plans and supervises student lab and/or clinical experiences or practice based on teaching assignment. Scholarly Activities ( research/writing, abstracts, grant supported work, presentations, etc.): Participates in scholarly activities based on faculty rank. At the Assistant Professor rank or higher, faculty in the practice mission, demonstrates competence in an area of clinical expertise and engages in inquiry and scholarship that contributes to the practice of clinical practice. At the Assistant Professor rank or higher, faculty in the research mission advance a program of research, prepares grants and seeks funding, and engages with other missions to foster inquiry within the SON. Education Activities ( include types of teaching and types of student taught ): Provides effective didactic instruction based on teaching assignment using appropriate instructional technologies to ensure that course outcomes are met. Participates collaboratively in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum. Mentors and advises students. Faculty in the doctoral program supervise students in dissertation and/or clinical inquiry projects. Service Activities: These activities could include faculty meetings, committee membership, professional activities and other responsibilities as assigned by the Program or Academic Director. Participates in faculty governance; additional engagement based on rank. Administrative Activities: As negotiated. Other Activities: The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach and public service. Required Qualifications Education and Experience (Degree dependent on academic program type and rank of position. Experience dependent on academic program type and rank of position): Nurse Educators Must hold an active RN license in Oregon; Hold at least a graduate degree in nursing, or a baccalaureate degree in nursing and graduate or doctoral degree in a related field; and ideally document competency in teaching through experience, educational preparation, or CE. Nurse Educator Associates Hold an active RN license in Oregon; and Hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing. Registrations, Certifications, and/or Licenses (Current licensure & certifications could be required depending on position and academic program.) : Oregon RN license BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Preferred Qualifications Experience ( Experience dependent on academic program type and rank of position.) : 1 year of teaching experience at the Clinical Instructor or higher level preferred.
