School Therapist - Floater

ABOUT THE ROLE Seneca’s School Partnership Programs is hiring a School Therapist - Floater to help students thrive within the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD). As an integral member of the school community, you will provide healing-centered individual and family therapy, case management services, mental health assessments, and Educationally Related Mental Health Services (ERMHS) to students receiving Special Education support. As a floater therapist, you will support multiple SFUSD school sites across San Francisco, requiring reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the city. This role serves a diverse caseload of youth ages 5–18 and offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with caregivers, teachers, counselors, and school leadership to promote student well-being and academic success. ABOUT THE UE WEST BAY PROGRAM Seneca’s Unconditional Education West Bay Program partners with 8+ schools in San Francisco Unified School District and Public Charter Schools to implement elements of Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).Our team is comprised of School Climate Specialists, School-Based Therapists, and Student Support Assistants. Our staff implement strategies that range from creating, implementing and monitoring trauma-informed school-wide systems to individualized therapy and targeted behavioral support for students with the highest levels of need. Responsibilities Work collaboratively within a transdisciplinary team, including teachers, counselors, specialists, and program leadership Provide individual, group, and family therapy, as well as case management for a caseload of school-referred students Engage caregivers and school staff in the treatment process with regular discussions on student progress and needs Provide crisis intervention, including risk screening, assessment, triage, and service linkage Provide consultation and/or coaching to school staff around student needs and risk management rooted in a healing centered approach Complete required data collection and service documentation to measure the effectiveness of services, inform team decision making, and/or engage in service billing Communicate effectively with families and all others involved in the daily life of the student, including other Seneca programs or outside agencies Utilize crisis communication and de-escalation techniques as per Seneca's crisis response training This may include intervening with the students’ behavioral program through physical management Qualifications Education/Experience requirements: Master's degree in social work, marriage and family therapy, professional clinical counseling, or psychology Registered or eligible to register with the California BBS required Experience working with youth in a mental health or education setting is preferred Own vehicle, valid driver's license, clean driving record required TB test clearance, fingerprinting clearance, and any other state/federal licensing or certification requirements Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred. Schedule School based schedule: Monday to Friday: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm 5 weeks of paid time off, 11 paid holidays, and 14 paid school break days Benefits Starting at $78,666 - $92,666 per year Actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications $2000 sign-on bonus for new Seneca employees!
