Senior C++ Platform Engineer

This is an opportunity to develop the core infrastructure that keeps large-scale, latency-sensitive trading systems running safely, reliably and at exceptional speed. Working in a highly collaborative engineering environment, you'll build production-grade C++ services that support everything from real-time risk controls and trade lifecycle management to reference data and distributed platform services.

What You'll Be Working On

• Developing high-performance C++ services supporting large-scale electronic trading platforms.
• Building distributed systems responsible for real-time risk controls, reference data, trade lifecycle management and critical platform services.
• Designing low-latency, fault-tolerant applications capable of handling high volumes of real-time data.
• Owning projects from architecture and design through implementation, deployment and production support.
• Improving platform resilience, scalability and operational reliability across business-critical systems.
• Collaborating closely with software engineers, infrastructure teams and trading stakeholders to deliver robust technical solutions.
• Driving engineering best practices through code reviews, automated testing, observability and continuous improvement.
• Modernising existing systems and replacing manual processes with scalable engineering solutions.
• Mentoring engineers and helping shape technical standards across the wider engineering organisation.

What We're Looking For

• Strong commercial C++ development experience.
• Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, networking and operating systems.
• Experience building high-performance, low-latency or distributed systems.
• Strong Linux or Unix systems knowledge.
• Experience with Python or another scripting language.
• Experience delivering production software throughout the full software development lifecycle.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting and performance optimisation skills.
• Experience with distributed systems, CI/CD pipelines, observability or cloud-native tooling is advantageous.
• Understanding of relational databases and modern data platforms is beneficial.
• Previous experience within electronic trading or financial markets is advantageous but not essential.
• A collaborative mindset with a passion for building reliable, maintainable and scalable systems.
