Retail & Commercial Banking is a global business integrating all our retail and commercial banking activities to better serve our customers, improve efficiency and drive value creation. THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKE The Everyday Banking team in Retail Banking are looking for a Senior Data Analyst based out of Milton Keynes, other primary head office location will be considered. This role is a 12 month FTC/Secondment It’s a fast-paced and dynamic environment, providing opportunities to shape and deliver some of the most strategic priorities of the Bank, so it’s a great time to join and make a difference. This role will lead data and analysis to support programmes of work directly contributing to the TSB integration. It is a commercially orientated role with a strong emphasis on creating good outcomes for customers and the Bank. To succeed in this role, you will be responsible for: Leading design and development of Datamart / Models / Product / Commercial initiatives to support the TSB integration (pre-migration, integration and post-migration) Producing combined view of disparate data lakes of two Banks through the process of migration Establishing a near real-time reflex on data requirements, to avoid potential customer as Regulatory interactions, Court hearings, Customer commns/complaints, Media scrutiny and Migration process Identifying and managing risk with help from data analytics across functions Apply AI / LLMs to ‘ do more with less ’ and for greater efficiency Experience building interpretable models using appropriate techniques or traditional logistics / decision tree frameworks alongside familiarity with regulatory standards Ability to defend models and processes to internal risk committees and externally to the Regulators Ability to handle very large, distributed datasets Ability to translate complex outputs into commercial impact for non-technical business leaders Managing data analysis and research to determine product development, harmonisation and prioritisation Making commercial decisions, through data analytics and test and learn Managing product P&L / Balance Sheet, driving customer growth and digital adoption with support from data analytics Managing budget and project funding requirements and business case approval Manage direct reports, encouraging and developing excellence. Professional Experience SQL skills and experience with one or more analytical programming language, e.g. SAS/python (required) Translate business questions into analytical solutions and clear outputs, including regular and ad-hoc reports, dashboards and data summaries (required) Able to analyse large relational databases and large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and insights (required) Strong analytical and problem-solving skills (required) Communication skills with strong stakeholder management (required) Excel and analytical experience (required) Financial services experience, including experience in dealing with financial products, including current accounts, savings and business banking (preferred) Experience with reporting or visualisation tools, e.g. Power BI (preferred) Hard Skills SQL (required) SAS or Python (required) Excel (Required) PowerBI (preferred) WE VALUE YOUR IMPACT At Santander, your contribution matters. Salary Range: £76,000.00 - £114,000.00 per annum (depending on experience) This salary range represents the expected remuneration for the role. Annual salary is based on a standard 35-hour working week. Actual salary offered will depend on skills, experience, qualifications and location.
