Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing. Role Overview: Drive EHS strategy & excellence culture at the site to ensure Safety. Provide leadership and guidance in implementing & sustaining GE Aerospace's global EHS expectations & Frame Work at the site. Develop proactive EHS programs to maintain a safe work environment at the site. Provide leadership & Technical Expertise on all EHS related issues. Develop, Implement & sustain programs to prevent and address occupational hazards. Ensure compliance with all the EHS regulatory requirements (KSPCB, MOEF, KSFCA, AERB etc.) applicable to Research & Development organization. Act as an immediate contact for Researchers, Engineers and Functions staff concerning environmental, health and safety related needs, issues etc. Provide guidance & support for incident/event investigation. Lead and drive employee engagement events, Safety Teams. Lead & guide team to develop and conduct EHS training, and maintain EHS related records. Maintain knowledge of existing and proposed EHS regulations and advise management of the impact to the business regarding those regulations. Periodical inspection / audits to verify compliance and to ensure safe work practices followed at the site Uses judgment to make decisions or solve complex/moderately complex tasks or problems in the areas of research, technology, engineering and infrastructure/facilities. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and external sources to arrive at decisions. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead projects with high/moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field. As people leader, responsible for team performance and talent development inline with GE Aerospace requirements. Collaborate and partner with global & regional EHS teams to drive EHS excellence at the site. Ideal candidate: Should have experience in EHS. Required Qualifications: Engineering degree in Environmental, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline or a Master’s Degree in EHS with a minimum of 15 + years of working experience in industry. Knowledge of the Indian EHS Regulations applicable to research & development organization. Desired Qualification: Passion for Zero Injury, EHS excellence and compliance.
