We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement of a complex electrical network supporting multiple hydro power stations, high-voltage substations, transmission and distribution systems, industrial manufacturing facilities and surrounding communities.

Working across a geographically dispersed power network, you'll be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of hydroelectric generation assets and the associated high-voltage transmission and distribution systems that deliver power across the organisation's operations.

About the Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll provide technical leadership across both hydro power generation assets and the high-voltage transmission and distribution network, ensuring maximum system reliability, asset performance and operational safety.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading maintenance and reliability across multiple hydroelectric power stations and associated HV electrical infrastructure
- Managing high-voltage substations, transformers, switchgear, transmission and distribution networks
- Overseeing protection systems, relays, circuit breakers and electrical network integrity
- Developing preventative and predictive maintenance strategies for generation and HV network assets
- Leading fault finding, root cause analysis and power system investigations
- Planning and coordinating major shutdowns, outages and maintenance programs
- Managing capital projects, electrical upgrades and network improvements
- Supporting protection coordination, testing and commissioning activities
- Providing technical leadership, mentoring and development of engineering and maintenance teams
- Managing contractors and specialist service providers
- Ensuring compliance with electrical, safety and environmental standards
- Working closely with operations to maximise plant availability, network reliability and power system performance
You'll ideally bring:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Extensive experience within hydro power generation, high-voltage transmission and distribution, utilities, mining or heavy industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of HV substations, transformers, switchgear, protection relays and electrical distribution systems
- Experience with power system protection, electrical network reliability and asset management
- Demonstrated experience leading maintenance and reliability teams
- Strong troubleshooting, fault finding and continuous improvement capability
- Experience managing electrical projects, contractors and capital works
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Previous experience working within remote, regional or expatriate environments will be highly regarded
