The Opportunity

We are supporting a leading technical advisory business with the appointment of a Senior Electrical Engineer / Consultant to join its growing renewable energy team in Seoul.

The business supports the development and delivery of major renewable energy projects across Korea and internationally, and is looking for an experienced electrical engineer with a strong track record in offshore wind.

This is a particularly good opportunity for someone currently working within an international engineering, design or technical consultancy who wants to take on a senior, client-facing position in Korea.

The role will combine hands-on technical engineering, project management and client advisory responsibilities, with the opportunity to contribute across the development lifecycle from early-stage development and pre-FEED through FEED, procurement and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver electrical engineering studies and technical advisory assignments for offshore wind projects.
• Provide technical input across project development, pre-FEED, FEED, procurement and delivery stages.
• Develop and review electrical concepts, system architectures, design bases and technical specifications.
• Support electrical engineering scopes covering HV systems, power systems, grid connection, offshore transmission, substations and cable systems.
• Undertake and manage electrical systems analysis, design reviews and technical assessments.
• Support grid connection strategy, grid studies and engagement with network operators and other stakeholders.
• Review technical documentation, engineering designs and project deliverables.
• Manage electrical project scopes, programmes, deliverables and technical interfaces.
• Act as a key technical contact for clients, developers, contractors and project stakeholders.
• Coordinate internal engineers, external consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports, recommendations and client-facing presentations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers.
• Support proposals, client development and wider business development activities.
  
  
  
  

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with genuine offshore wind project experience, ideally gained within an international engineering, design or technical consultancy.

You should have:

• A degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience, including significant offshore wind exposure.
• A track record of contributing to real offshore wind projects that have progressed through development and towards delivery/construction.
• Experience working within an international engineering consultancy, design house, developer, OEM or similar technical environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems within offshore wind.
• Experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • HV / high-voltage systems
  • Power systems
  • Electrical systems analysis
  • Grid connection
  • Offshore transmission
  • Export or inter-array cable systems
  • Offshore or onshore substations
  • Electrical design and engineering

Experience with subsea cables, electrical systems analysis or specialist power systems software would be particularly valuable.

The successful candidate should also be comfortable operating in a client-facing consulting environment, with the ability to manage technical scopes, communicate recommendations clearly and coordinate multiple stakeholders.

Who This Could Suit

This role could be particularly well suited to an experienced engineer currently working for an international consultancy or design house or a similar organisation, with a background in offshore wind electrical engineering.

We are also open to candidates from other parts of the offshore wind value chain where they can demonstrate strong consultancy-style technical and client-facing experience.
