Job Description Job Title: Senior Electrical Power System Engineer Working Pattern: Full-time Working location: Indianapolis, IN (Hybrid Schedule -3 days onsite minimum) Rolls-Royce is looking for a Senior Electrical Power System Engineer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship Rolls-Royce programs and play a vital role in solving some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in the industry while being part of a global, multi-disciplinary team. As a Senior Electrical Power System Engineer, you will be the owner of assigned control system functions and interfaces. You will be responsible for providing technical guidance, counsel, and direction to a small team of engineers to ensure technical outcomes are delivered to appropriate standards and quality while working with a global engineering community to identify areas for collaboration and knowledge exchange. You will support full life cycle development and mentor junior engineers on processes, tools, and technical solutions. Basic Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline with 2+ years of electrical engineering experience, OR Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, OR PhD in degree Electrical, Electronic, Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen Preferred Requirements: 5+ years of electrical system/product development engineering experience Application of agile development methods to deliver engineering work products Experience in writing technical documents such as electrical system requirements and specifications, product design specifications, test specifications etc. Experience of developing, implementing and validating electrical power systems and sub-systems that integrate electrical machines, AC-AC / AC-DC and DC-DC conversion stages that will connect to a grid and/or other loads via distribution system Demonstrated experience with electrical system studies (load flow, faults studies, protections, harmonics, EMC, voltage drop, etc.) and analysis tools (such as Siemens Capital, MATLAB / Simulink / Simscape or similar) Experience in using electrical test equipment, data acquisition and analysis tools such as NI LabVIEW, or similar A systems-thinking mindset and an understanding of systems engineering processes, tools and industry standards (ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288, ARP4754 etc.) for development of complex aerospace, standalone power generation systems.
