Trillium Energy is seeking an exceptional Senior EPC Project Manager to lead the delivery of a flagship Utility Scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Kenya.

This is a full-time, site-based leadership role for an accomplished EPC professional who has successfully delivered 100 MW+ utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects from mobilisation through commissioning and final handover.

Minimum Mandatory Requirement

Applicants must have successfully delivered at least one Utility Scale Solar PV project of 100 MW or greater, including Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), as the Project Manager with full responsibility from mobilisation through commissioning, energisation and final handover.

The Role

Reporting directly to Executive Management, you will have full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project from Notice to Proceed through commissioning, commercial operation and final handover.

This is a full-time, site-based position. The successful candidate must be permanently based on site in Kenya, providing daily leadership throughout the construction period. This is not a rotational or remote position.

You will lead all project functions including engineering, procurement, construction, planning, project controls, HSE, quality, commissioning, commercial management and client coordination while managing major international EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.

This role requires an exceptional leader who takes complete ownership, makes sound decisions under pressure, and consistently delivers outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

* Take full responsibility for the successful EPC delivery of a Utility Scale Solar PV and BESS project.

* Lead all project activities from mobilisation through commissioning, energisation and commercial operation.

* Provide daily on-site leadership throughout the construction period.

* Manage international EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants and suppliers.

* Lead engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and project controls.

* Deliver the project safely, on schedule, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

* Manage all client, consultant and stakeholder relationships.

* Lead project reporting, planning, programme recovery and executive communications.

* Manage FIDIC contracts, commercial matters, variations and claims.

* Build, mentor and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary project team.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate:

* Minimum 15 years’ experience in Utility Scale Renewable Energy, Power Generation or major EPC Infrastructure Projects.

* Minimum 7 years’ experience as an EPC Project Manager.

* Successful delivery of at least one Utility Scale Solar PV Project of 100 MW or greater, including BESS, as the Project Manager with full responsibility from mobilisation through commissioning and handover.

* Proven experience managing major international EPC contractors and multiple subcontractors.

* Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and construction teams.

* Strong experience delivering projects under FIDIC EPC Contracts.

* Excellent commercial, contractual, programme and stakeholder management skills.

* Outstanding leadership, communication, negotiation and decision-making abilities.

* Willingness to relocate to Kenya and remain permanently based on site for the duration of the project.

* Excellent written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience

* Delivery of Utility Scale Solar PV and BESS projects exceeding 200 MW.

* Experience delivering major Utility Scale Renewable Energy Projects across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Europe or other international markets.

* Experience working alongside Tier 1 international EPC contractors on major infrastructure projects.

* PMP certification is desirable but not essential for candidates with exceptional project delivery experience.
