Senior Full Stack Frontend Engineer

Ruya AI is a venture-backed defense-tech company building AI-native intelligent software for sovereign institutions and their affiliated organizations operating in mission-critical, high-stakes environments. The Role

Quant is the team responsible for our core product experience. Our software is built to turn complex, data-rich information into secure, next-gen interfaces for the government and government-related operators who rely on it. As part of this team, you'll design and build the user-facing systems and integrations behind those capabilities.

You'll own the frontend experience layer, converting complex operator requirements into secure, reliable, and data-rich user interfaces. You'll work hands-on, building and operating these systems in close partnership with our product designer and other engineering teams.

Core Requirements

• Strong production experience with TypeScript, React, and modern frontend development.
• Experience building backend APIs with Node.js, Express, or a comparable framework.
• Practical knowledge of relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
• Experience delivering complex, data-rich product features.
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, browser security, and safe content rendering.
• Experience with automated unit, integration, and end-to-end testing.
• Ability to independently deliver frontend work while collaborating on backend integration, testing, and release.
• Strong product judgment and effective collaboration with designers and engineers.

Preferred Requirements

• js App Router, Tailwind CSS, TanStack Query, or Zustand.
• Mapbox GL, deck.gl, Cytoscape, AntV G6, or similar visualization libraries.
• SSE, WebSockets, or other real-time interfaces.
• Playwright, Vitest, and Testing Library.
• Sentry or comparable observability tooling.
• Experience implementing and testing critical user journeys, not only individual components.
• Experience building AI-enabled products or analyst/operator interfaces.

Location

In the Middle East, this is an in-person role based in our Dubai, UAE office. In Europe, the role is based in our offices in Belgrade, Serbia, as well as Bosnia and Herzegovina. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are available for our UAE locations.

We also hire for this role across the US, though visa sponsorship is not available for US-based locations.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this role is highly competitive and benchmarked to market. Total compensation may also include equity through Ruya AI's employee stock ownership plan (ESOP), a sign-on bonus, and other incentives over time. Final compensation reflects each candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, certifications, and work location. All offers are contingent on a satisfactory background check and, where applicable, a reference check. Military fellows and part-time employees are not eligible for benefits. Life at Ruya

We work primarily from our offices because in-person collaboration produces better outcomes, and most teams offer one or two remote days a week. A small number of roles are remote-eligible on an exception basis; employees in those roles must be based in the state where they're employed, and roles marked onsite require working from an office.
