Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Mt Owen/Glendell Operations (MGO) is an open cut mining operation which utilises truck and excavator mining methods to produce thermal and semi-soft coking coal, which is predominantly exported for domestic power generation and used in steel production. We are located within the Hunter Coalfields at Hebden in the Upper Hunter Valley of New South Wales. An opportunity exists for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join the team at MGO. Reporting to the Technical Services Manager and working a Monday to Friday dayshift roster, you will be responsible for appropriate geotechnical design and options analysis, working with geotechnical consultants, maintaining geotechnical systems and procedures in line with regulation and Glencore standards, and geotechnical surveillance including piezometer and radar management. The requirements for success in this role include: 5 years’ experience working across geotechnical investigation, design and analysis (preferred). Candidates with under 5 years’ experience will also be considered. The ability to undertake analyses utilising several different methodologies and software. Demonstrate a passion for visible leadership and teamwork. Demonstrated role ownership and ability to build working relationships. You will have a high regard for the value of teamwork and the provision of visible leadership.
