Job Summary: An excellent career opportunity available to a self-motivated, high-performing Senior Process Safety Engineer with a proven track record seeking technical challenges in the process safety and loss prevention design of a wide range of technologies. The engineer would be required to utilize their significant knowledge in all areas of design from conceptual studies to detailed engineering. The engineer should have a proven track record and will be recognized for their understanding of process safety engineering in the industry. Plans, schedules, conducts, and coordinates process safety work for a global business unit delivering FEED and EPC projects in the Oil and Gas industry, performing work that involves conventional engineering practice but may include solving complex risk and safety design issues. Executes process safety engineering major deliverables according to set engineering design criteria utilizing approved engineering procedures and practices. Prepares, coordinates, and reviews designs, studies, and reports. Takes the initiative to coordinate the design development of a system/project with other engineering disciplines while managing workload and meeting schedule due dates. Reviews and checks the work of subordinate engineers and assists in on-the-job training of assigned personnel, providing input for their performance evaluations. Ability to support multiple projects as a subject matter expert while prioritizing tasks and operating within a fast-paced project environment. Major Responsibilities: Review and provide design recommendations for new projects and proposed facility modifications to ensure conformance with process safety and loss prevention codes, standards and procedures. Developing process safety design basis, spill containment design basis and fire protection philosophy. Prepares or assists in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals. Prepares and/or assists in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity take-offs and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders. Design and checking of fire water systems including fire water demand, P&IDs, layouts, data sheets, etc. Preparation and checking of fireproofing schedules and diagrams. Preparation and checking of fire & gas detection layouts and cause & effect charts. Analysis of fire water networks in Pipenet. Preparation and checking of hazardous area classification schedules. Preparation and checking of escape route/safety sign layouts. Safety studies such as HAZID/ENVID, HAZOP, SIL, QRA, consequence modeling, etc. Supervision of a small team of process safety engineers. Education and Experience Requirements: A university or college degree from an accredited university in Chemical/Mechanical Engineering. At least 10+ years’ relevant experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering of Refineries, Petrochemicals, Gas Processing, Utilities & Offsite. Excellent technical and managerial skills, with both verbal and written communication skills. Working knowledge of various international codes and standards including NFPA. Working experience with software such as PHAST, CANARY, PHAPro, ExSILentia, Pipenet, etc. Required Knowledge and Skills: Experience in executing Middle Eastern projects, brownfield experience and familiarity with Aramco and Royal Commission standards and specifications or ADNOC standards and specifications is highly desirable. Understanding of engineering planning and control. Experience in reputed EPC companies will be preferred. Ambitious, energetic, self-motivated, self-managed, team player, and results-oriented.
