Project Overview: Bechtel has been involved over the last 80 years in some of the world’s busiest and most complex airport projects, including Greenfield and Brownfield developments. In the GCC, we have held significant roles on King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat international airports. Saudi Arabian Bechtel Company has been appointed to provide project management consultancy services (including technical, commercial, and construction management) for the development of a state of the art international airport in the city of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. King Salman International Airport will have a capacity of up to 120 million travellers by 2030 and 185 million travellers by 2050, and the capacity to process up to 3.5 million tons of cargo by 2050. Bechtel will provide PMC services for three new terminals; Terminal 6 is a new build ‘low cost carrier’ – hyper efficient terminal with gross floor area of ≈450,000m2, capacity of 20mppa; Iconic Terminal is a new build ‘new concept’ terminal with gross floor area of ≈ 1M m2, capacity of 40 to 45 mppa, and Private Aviation Terminal and hangars for VIPs and business jet passengers. Job Summary: In this role, you will lead internal and external design consultant teams and interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate the engineering technical aspects for a complex passenger terminal building. You will participate in project planning, proposal review, and will own the engineering elements of capital estimates. Your technical guidance and recommendations will ensure engineering aspects meet project requirements and remain within scope and budget. Major Responsibilities: Responsible for medium to large sized complex engineering assignments (program) within a global business unit. Possesses full technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments Participates in project planning prior to proposals to provide technical guidance in the engineering and construction review of proposals. Provides input to and owns the engineering elements of a project capital estimate (proposals and execution) quantities and budgets. Reviews major changes or deviations in project scope, project material quantities, budget or schedule, and assists particularly with defining the change, obtaining accurate estimates of the hours involved, and recommending budget adjustment. Ensures engineering efforts with Project Manager, Procurement, Construction, Startup, Environmental Safety and Health (ES&H) and Project Controls. Directs the preparation of project studies, reports, forecasts, special engineering reports and plant data book Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience Required Knowledge and Skills: Strong varied experience in creating, developing and leading teams. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal relationship skills at varying levels of the organization. Ability to work effectively under pressure with changing priorities and deadlines. Demonstrated ability to effectively influence outcomes and escalate issues appropriately. Must be a self-starter and highly motivated to succeed. Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing and solving problems. Previous, related, Project Engineering experience in the Middle East is highly preferred. Prior multi-disciplinary experience in airport terminal buildings or similarly complex public buildings is essential. Previous experience and expert knowledge of KSA labor laws and working practices and requirements is highly preferred.
