This position will be in Huntsville, AL , supporting the Sentinel Program. What You’ll Get To Do: The successful candidate will join the Sentinel Program's System Engineering Team in the development of weapon system interfaces, requirement analysis, verification planning, and programmatic system engineering technical direction. This is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both functional oversight and leadership of up to 12 Systems Engineers as well as responsibility for a part of Sentinel program performance. The selected candidate will also be responsible for a Systems Engineering discipline Section within the SDS Systems Engineering organization and will report directly to an SDS Systems Engineering Department Manager. You will provide career mentorship and operational support to a Functional Home Room (FHR) team (Section) of Individual Contributors (ICs) based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy. Key FHR responsibilities will be personnel performance management, process familiarization and training for Section members, as well as staffing roles on projects. The selected candidate will spend part of their time in support of the organization’s Functional Homeroom responsibilities and part of their time on technical assignment on SDS projects or IPT; the technical scope of this role not a part of the requisition and should be part of the candidates’ current roles and responsibilities. As a functional homeroom leader, responsibilities include organizational administrative activities and helping employees’ performance and career development through guidance and training. The direct program responsibilities, in addition to a current assignment, may include system architecture development, requirements development/management, requirement verification planning, system design/analysis, model-based systems engineering, IPT/product owner leadership, or other appropriate technical functions. This may include, but is not limited to, the following: - Functionally manage a team of systems engineers, including goal setting, performance reviews, quarterly feedback, pay and promotion recommendations - Define team members’ work scope, assign and evaluate tasks, provide performance feedback and career counseling, ensure traceability of all products to approved baselines - Review technical content and accuracy of verification products and team member contributions to system verification - Review technical content and accuracy of weapons system governance and requirements products and team member contributions to governance and requirements - Collect status and report program status and progress to senior leadership and government customers - Serve as liaison with employees and supervisors at equivalent levels, up to vice-president and Executive Leadership Team (ELT), if needed - Ensure projects are completed on cost and schedule following established procedures. - CDRL and/or metrics owner for DOORs, Cameo, and other weapon system development content. You’ll Bring These Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 8 years of related experience or a Master's degree in STEM with 6 years of related experience. -Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an investigation date within the last 6 years. - 1 year of ICBM experience (MMIII or Sentinel). - 2 years of experience using MBSE tools (using SysML, DoDAF, or UAFP in Cameo or Rhapsody). - Sentinel special program access (PAR). These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have: - Top Secret clearance. - Experience with DOORS. - Master's Degree in STEM. - Experience with Cameo model integration. - Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices. - Active Sentinel special program access cleared (PAR). - Experience in People and Technical Leadership roles. - Experience as an EVMS Control Account Manager (CAM). - Experience working with DoD government/military personnel. - Experience leading a team or driving performance against schedule. - Experience with task management tools (preferably JIRA) and EVMS. - Experience with functional decomposition, interface definition, and use case definition. - Excellent verbal and written communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, customers, peers, and employees. Primary Level Salary Range: $153,800.00 - $230,800.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
