Shape the future of engineering lifecycle management in the European space sector

We are looking for an experienced Siemens Polarion ALM Specialist to support a major international space organisation at ESA’s ESRIN site in Frascati, Italy. You will be a strong fit if you combine hands-on Polarion expertise with a good understanding of requirements and engineering lifecycle processes.

In this role, you will be the technical specialist responsible for configuring, evolving and supporting the Polarion ALM environment used to support engineering, requirements management, quality and development processes.

You will work closely with engineering teams, business stakeholders and technical specialists to understand their needs and turn them into effective, reliable Polarion solutions.

What you will do

Your responsibilities will cover the full lifecycle of the Polarion solution, including:

  • Analyse stakeholder and engineering requirements and translate them into Polarion-based solutions.
  • Design and configure Polarion workflows, work items, metadata, roles, permissions, forms and lifecycle processes.
  • Develop and maintain workflow automation and configuration customisations.
  • Support requirements management, traceability, change management and engineering lifecycle processes.
  • Design and support integrations between Polarion and other enterprise or engineering systems using APIs and middleware.
  • Plan and execute data migration activities, including data mapping, validation, reconciliation and issue resolution.
  • Define and execute functional, integration, regression and user acceptance testing.
  • Investigate technical issues and coordinate the resolution of defects and performance problems.
  • Maintain configuration baselines, technical documentation, administrator guides and user documentation.
  • Provide user support and deliver training and knowledge-transfer sessions.
  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve engineering processes and enhance Polarion capabilities.
  • Ensure that system configurations, changes and documentation comply with applicable quality, configuration-management and organisational standards.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience administering, configuring or implementing Siemens Polarion ALM.
  • Experience with requirements management, workflow configuration and application lifecycle management.
  • Understanding of system integration, APIs, data migration and enterprise application environments.
  • Experience with software/system testing and quality assurance processes.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to produce clear technical documentation and deliver user training.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in controlled, quality-driven and security-sensitive environments.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Desirable

  • Siemens Polarion or other relevant Siemens ecosystem certification.
  • Experience in aerospace, space, defence, automotive, engineering or another regulated environment.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and requirements engineering processes.
  • Familiarity with Agile, DevOps and/or ITIL practices.
  • Experience with scripting, automation or Polarion customisation.
  • Experience integrating Polarion with other engineering or enterprise applications.
  • Project management or Agile certification such as PRINCE2, PMP or Scrum Master.
  • Previous experience working with ESA or other large international organisations.

Why should you apply?

  • You will have the opportunity to work within leading space organisations across Europe.
  • We encourage everyone to think outside the box and to push the boundaries of traditional knowledge. This role is an opportunity to join a forward-thinking company and allows for a deeper understanding of the industry.
  • To be part of a company that values integrity, inspiration, care and collaboration.
  • Benefits include: competitive remuneration packages; unique career opportunities, including working in other countries; access to training and development programmes; flexible relocation support.
