What You Will Achieve In this role, you will: Master Electrician (Approximately 50% of workload, primary responsibly) Serve as the Pfizer Kalamazoo Master Electrician of Record with the State of Michigan. Apply for electrical permits on behalf of Pfizer Kalamazoo. Inspect Electrical work being performed by Pfizer employees to ensure the work being performed is within the standards of the National Electric Code. Coordinate inspection visits with the State and Local Inspectors. Support, review and develop National Electric Code training programs on site. This can include but is not limited to; coordinating National Electric Code update classes for all State of Michigan Journeyman/Master Electrician license holders, apprentice training curriculum review, and other ad hoc training needs. Provide electrical SME support to the site on an as needed basis. Review work hours and attest for Pfizer Electrical Apprentice and Journeyman hours to allow for State Licensing testing. Assist with Pfizer’s Electrical Apprenticeship program. Develop and maintain database of Pfizer Employee Electrical Licensing Coordinate and facilitate monthly site Electrician Meeting. Medium Voltage Electrician (50% of workload, secondary responsibility) Responsible for the operation and maintenance of the site’s medium voltage (480V – 13,200V) electrical distribution system. The incumbent will regularly operate and maintain substations, breakers, motor controls, high voltage cable and distribution pole lines. A Medium Voltage Electrician performs preventive maintenance, modified, installs and maintains company medium power distribution systems in compliance with company standards and procedures as well as applicable government regulations. The incumbent can also serve as a subject matter expert advisor in areas of engineering (process design, equipment selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem-solving methodology and project scope development). Additional duties and responsibilities include: May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required. Must be able to work on a high performing team with the ability to accept job assignments and work with others to complete those tasks within the team. Functional/Technical Knowledge: Knowledge of basic discipline. Knowledge of industry practices and standards. Problem Solving and Innovation: Develop solutions to routine problems following established Pfizer policies and procedures. Communication in developing and implementing solutions is critical. Discretion, Latitude, Level of Independence: Works with minimal supervision. Here Is What You Need (Minimum Requirements) High School Diploma or GED 6+ years of experience (Minimum of three years of work experience as a Master Electrician in an industrial/commercial environment) State of Michigan Electrical Master License. Self-starter with ability to work independently. Strong work ethic and the ambition to be the best. Project management skill set Able to lead teams Excellent computer skills are required (Microsoft systems). Excellent communication skills are required. Ability to read drawings/electrical diagrams. Bonus Points If You Have (Preferred Requirements): Bachelor's Degree Work experience with medium voltage. Understanding of Pharma Utility systems and operations. Advanced certifications in relevant technical fields. Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and techniques. Proficiency in using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS). Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities. Familiarity and basic understanding of common AI tools and a curiosity for learning how they can be used to enhance productivity. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS Routinely exposed to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, and energized equipment. As well as noisy, dusty, and dirty conditions. Will stoop, bend, and lift heavy items. NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call as required. In addition, this position offers eligibility for overtime, weekend, holiday and other pay premiums depending on the work schedule and the Company’s policies.
