About North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre North Shore Veterinary Specialist Centre (NSVSC), established in 2001, operates alongside the long-standing North Shore Veterinary Hospital (est. 1935) to provide seamless 24/7 care. With a dedicated team of specialists, emergency clinicians, and support staff, NSVSC is recognised for gold-standard patient care and a collaborative, supportive workplace. The GP hospital manages first-opinion cases and walk-in emergencies, while NSVSC handles complex referrals, and oncology cases in partnership with ONE Cancer Care, and after-hours care, ensuring patients receive the right expertise at the right time. Relocated in 2019 to a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility, NSVSC is equipped for advanced interventional procedures, strong ECC services, and dedicated anaesthesia support. Facilities & Equipment • Advanced Imaging: Siemens 1.5T MRI, 128-slice GE CT scanner, Digital X-ray, Phillips Ultrasound • Endoscopy & Interventional: Fluoroscopy, Arthroscope, Endoscope, Laparoscope, Thoracoscope • Surgical & Critical Care: Surgical Laser, Dedicated ICU with ventilator • In-House Laboratory: IDEXX Laboratory, Haematology, Biochemistry, Electrolytes, Blood Gas Meet Your Future Colleagues Join a distinguished multidisciplinary team recognised for clinical excellence and patient-focused collaboration: • Dr. Kerry Doolin, Criticalist Specialist – 15+ years of experience; expertise in emergency and critical care. • Dr. Craig Bailey, Surgery Specialist – 30+ years of experience; fields include soft tissue surgery, orthopaedics, and spinal surgery. • Dr. Richard Churcher, Internal Medicine Specialist – 30+ years of experience; interests in cardiology (interventional), urology, neurology, gastroenterology, and oncology. • Dr. Adam Swallow, Internal Medicine Specialist – Interests include gastroenterology, nephrology, and oncology. About the Role As an Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) Specialist, you will lead the management of complex emergency and critical patients while delivering gold-standard care in a fast-paced referral environment. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, ECC veterinarians, and highly experienced veterinary nurses to support patients across all disciplines. This role is best suited to a board-certified or residency-trained ECC clinician with post-training clinical experience, offering opportunities to contribute to teaching, mentorship, and service development, while enjoying flexible work arrangements and the lifestyle benefits of living in Australia. Residency-trained candidates will also be considered. Recognised and/or accredited undergraduate veterinary degree approved by the Australasian Veterinary Boards Council (AVBC).
