About the Role This is a founding Solutions Engineer position at a fast-growing, early-stage AI startup in Munich. The company builds AI-powered software that automates quoting and order processing for distributors and manufacturers — integrating directly into enterprise ERP and CRM systems to help sales teams close more deals with less manual effort. As the first Solutions Engineer, you will be the technical cornerstone of enterprise sales: owning proof-of-concepts, resolving integration and architecture concerns, and translating complex product capabilities into tangible value for customers. You will sit at the intersection of sales, product, and engineering, directly shaping how the company wins complex deals and influencing the product roadmap. What You'll Do Own the technical side of every major deal, from the first demo through to a signed customer. Deeply understand customer workflows to identify the use cases that best demonstrate product value in their specific context. Join sales conversations as the credible technical counterpart on topics including integrations, data handling, security, and architecture — resolving blockers that stand between the customer and a buying decision. Build demos and proof-of-concepts on real customer data, creating prototypes that prove the product works in practice, not just in ideal conditions. Feed structured deal insights back to the product and engineering teams, distinguishing between demo-only requests, quick customer-specific builds, and core product needs. What We're Looking For Required 2+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering, Technical Customer Success, Technical Consulting, or a similar customer-facing technical role. Native-level German and strong English communication skills — able to present confidently to senior stakeholders and stay composed when a live demo is put to the test. Proficiency in JavaScript and Python; comfortable writing code to build convincing proofs and prototypes. Solid experience with APIs, integrations, and system/integration architecture (familiarity with ERP or CRM ecosystems is a strong plus). A track record of identifying the real problem behind a customer request and making abstract products feel tangible through demos that help close deals. Commercial judgment: ability to read a room, spot the real blocker, and move deals forward. Willingness to work fully on-site in Munich in a high-intensity, early-stage environment. Nice to Have Background in industrial, manufacturing, or distribution sectors. Experience with enterprise security standards, GDPR considerations, or data compliance discussions in a sales context. Prior experience in an early-stage startup where SE playbooks didn't yet exist. Compensation & Benefits Salary: €90,000 – €200,000 per year (depending on experience). Visa sponsorship is available. High-ownership role with significant influence over product direction and company trajectory. Location Munich, Germany — fully on-site. This is not a remote or hybrid role; in-person presence is a core part of the culture.
