Sous Chef - French Cuisine – Relocate to the Caribbean
Location: Caribbean Islands – multiple positions available
Salary: USD $40,000 - $45,000 base + monthly accommodation allowance + gratuities + relocation + work permit sponsorship
Frontier Recruitment is partnering with a luxury resort group in the Caribbean to appoint a Specialist French Chef to join their culinary leadership team.
This role is ideally suited to a strong Sous Chef currently working within a high-end restaurant, hotel, or resort environment, or someone already operating as a Specialist Chef within an international hospitality setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for executing established menu concepts and maintaining exceptional culinary standards across the operation. This is not a creative development role — the focus is consistency, execution, leadership, and delivering an exceptional guest experience at every service.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Executive Chef on property, the Specialist French Chef will oversee the preparation and execution of refined French cuisine while supporting, mentoring, and leading the wider kitchen team.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring strong leadership presence on the floor and in the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute established menu items to the highest possible standards
- Lead and manage kitchen teams throughout service
- Maintain consistency, presentation, and quality across all dishes
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure smooth daily operations
- Train, mentor, and support junior culinary team members
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and food safety
- Assist with ordering, prep management, and operational controls
The Ideal Candidate
- Currently operating at Sous Chef level
- Strong background in authentic French cuisine
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and manage teams effectively
- Exceptional attention to detail and high personal standards
- Calm under pressure with strong communication skills
- Luxury hospitality experience preferred
- International experience considered an asset
Work permit sponsorship will be provided for the successful candidates. Due to the nature of the relocation package, these positions are best suited to candidates able to relocate independently.
