Job Summary AIUSA’s Marketing and Communications team develops and executes creative and compelling communications strategies that leverage and build on the Amnesty brand, mobilize members and supporters, and add to the public discourse to protect and advance human rights. The Specialist, Creative Content (“Specialist ”) assists with the development and implementation of content strategies, creating and editing various content formats, and producing content across multiple digital platforms. The Specialist will play a vital role in our visual storytelling team, transforming concepts and ideas into impactful visual representations across print and electronic media. The Specialist should be an excellent storyteller, with experience creating digital multimedia content, developing audience- and channel-appropriate messaging, digital audience development, producing engaging multimedia content tailored to diverse audiences and communication channels and demonstrates a thorough understanding of branding and marketing principles. This role is a union position and covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Communication Workers of America (CWA), Local 1180. This is a 2-year fixed term role. Essential Responsibilities Multimedia Production and Strategy Produce a regular stream of multimedia content (video, images, graphics, social posts, merchandise) tailored for diverse digital audiences and multiple channels, including rapid response content. Video work includes: writing scripts, basic editing, and appearing on-camera Assist in developing and maintaining AIUSA's visual brand identity and guidelines across communications channels to ensure integrity and relevance to organizational goals Create and implement innovative ideas for visuals, videos, images, and designs supporting human rights campaigns, member engagement, branding, and fundraising Editorial & Digital Production Research, select, and curate photos, videos, and assets (copyright compliance) from sources such as Getty or AP, enriching visual storytelling for research and campaign outputs Develop creative packages for organizational priorities, including campaigns, research outputs, and advocacy events Write, edit, and adapt creative content for web, social platforms, and digital media, ensuring consistency, brand cohesion, and accessibility Collaboration & Project Support Coordinate closely with marketing, social media, web, and research teams, as well as external partners, to deliver impactful creative campaigns and products Participate in planning and supporting events, research missions, and delegations to document and amplify AIUSA’s work through visual content Align deliverables with audience insights, campaign needs, and evolving platform trends, collaborating to optimize reach Analytics, Monitoring & Inclusion Analyze and report on content performance metrics to inform decisions and refine creative strategies in partnership with the Web and Social Media Managers Track human rights news and digital trends to seize timely content opportunities and keep tactics current Center IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility) in all content planning, creation, and collaboration Other duties as assigned Qualifications and Success Profile To succeed in this role, candidates must bring both the technical expertise to execute the work and the interpersonal and behavioral competencies that align with AIUSA's mission-driven, collaborative culture.
