The role will also include additional involvement in associated geophysical analysis skills, which will be key to the overall understanding and delivery of integrated project. In addition to CSEM delivery, the successful candidate will be expected to support an extensive mix of applied geophysical analysis work where required, which may include rock physics studies, seismic analysis, seismic reservoir characterisation and integrated subsurface investigations. The role is therefore suited to a strong CSEM specialist with the flexibility and technical skills to contribute across a mix of specialist geophysical analysis studies. The role requires a strong foundation in geoscience theory and demonstrable experience in the application of geological and geophysical data across integrated subsurface projects. In addition, the successful candidate will work closely with the current CSEM domain expert to build capability and expand the application of CSEM technology across bp. The role requires a self-starter who can identify relevant opportunities to promote and mature the use of the technology, while supporting knowledge sharing and capability development within the wider organisation. Over time, the successful candidate will be expected to develop into a technical leader for the field and provide domain expertise across bp. What you will deliver: You will promote bp's dedication to safe, responsible and sustained performance, and demonstrate strong individual and leadership behaviours in line with bp values. You will have responsibility for the planning and delivery of CSEM projects as part of the Geophysics Global Specialist Team, supporting exploration and appraisal opportunities across bp's Upstream portfolio. You will implement and supervise technical workflows across the CSEM value chain, including feasibility studies, survey design, modelling, inversion, interpretation and integration with seismic, well and geological data. You will develop and maintain effective working relationships with subsurface regional teams / project teams, external contractors and internal technology teams to support successful project delivery. In your role, you will deliver and support a broad range of geophysical projects including CSEM, rock physics studies, seismic analysis and integrated subsurface studies. You will provide specialist technical expertise in CSEM and contribute to technical assurance of geophysical products, workflows and contractor product delivery. What you will need to be successful Must have educational qualifications: Geophysics / Geoscience degree from a recognised university. Minimum years of relevant experience: 8 years proven experience as an as applied geophysicist with knowledge in CSEM work. Must have experiences/skills (to be hired with): Strong hands-on experience in CSEM/EM modelling, inversion and interpretation Experience with CSEM survey design, feasibility studies and resistivity model buildin and experience working in Linux/HPC environments. Experience with CSEM modelling/inversion software (EMGS tools OR other equivalent softwares) Experience integrating CSEM with seismic, well and geological data Strong communication, customer engagement and technical delivery skills Ability to work independently and collaborate across global teams Demonstrated potential to grow into a recognised technical leader, providing subject matter guidance, mentoring colleagues, and supporting the continued development and application of CSEM capability across bp. Good to have experiences/skills (can be trained – learning/on-the-job) Rock physics and seismic reservoir characterisation experience.
