Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Speech Language Pathologist, you will be a vital clinician, expertly assessing, diagnosing, and treating communication and swallowing disorders to significantly improve patient quality of life. Every day, you will conduct comprehensive evaluations for all referred patients, meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans. You'll contribute clinical expertise to develop/upgrade treatment programs/protocols, and actively shape departmental and organizational goals. To be successful in this role, you will possess advanced clinical knowledge, exceptional diagnostic/therapeutic skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Conducts initial evaluations on assigned inpatients within 24 working hours of receipt of order, ensuring they are completed within 48 hours Performs initial evaluations for newly referred patients to determine the primary and secondary problems involved. Collects baseline data and determines the appropriateness of the prescribed care Develops a patient treatment plan based on the information obtained from the initial evaluation, including modalities/procedures to be used, treatment objectives, frequency of patient visits, and time frame for short-term goals Re-assesses the patient's progress and revises the treatment plan on a bi-weekly basis or sooner Completes documentation in the patient's chart which includes the subjective and objective responses and any anticipated changes in the treatment plan. Reviews patient care plan daily and adjusts it appropriately Participates in case and family conferences as needed We possess the new Olympus Tower to perform FEEs We are offering a sign-on bonus in addition to relocation to new hires who meet the eligibility requirements. Job Requirements Required Current licensure by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance as a speech and language pathologist and Speech Pathologists providing independent case coverage in Pediatrics must have a minimum of 1 year pediatric experience, upon hire and Speech Language Pathologist: CA, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire (Must be through the American Heart Association) Preferred Recent clinical experience in a variety of communication disorders and emphasis in dysphagia, upon hire #NSTherapy3 Where You’ll Work For more than 70 years Mercy Medical Center Redding has offered comprehensive health care in the North State providing acute care and a full range of medical services. The 267-bed hospital offers major medical services including a Level II Trauma Center as well as specialized Cardiovascular Care Stroke Care Orthopedics Neurological Surgery Comprehensive Cancer Care Maternity Care and da Vinci Robotic Surgery. It is the sole provider of obstetrical services along with the only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Shasta County. In addition the hospital’s network of care includes Mercy Home Health and Hospice and Dignity Health Connected Living. Mercy Medical Center Redding is a member of the Dignity Health system and is a sister facility to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff and Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta.
