Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr. Principal Test Conductor - Mission Planner to join the team of qualified individuals. Position is located in Edwards, CA. Join us to lead mission planning for developmental flight test, drive pre/post-mission execution, and support integration lab activities while collaborating closely with maintenance, design, and test teams on cutting-edge unmanned systems. You’ll leverage JMPS/PFPS/AFMSS to shape sorties that advance our Defining Possible mission and deliver real impact. Key Responsibilities: Create test article mission plans and routing for various developmental efforts. Provide pre/post mission support planning and documentation, supporting appropriate decisions regarding safety, efficiency, and effectiveness. Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness/feasibility and adequacy of test program. Provide laboratory support for integration testing. Interface with test article/software design and analysis teams to define test configuration and data requirements. Support test card development and review in collaboration with various engineering disciplines and test operations personnel. Support test readiness reviews, and pre/post-test briefings. Support test planning working groups as needed. Conduct and contributes to pre and post-test data analyses to support anomaly identification and resolution. Maintains metrics on status of testing and constraints. This position requires outstanding written and oral communications skills. Individual will be required to serve as either a principal subject matter focal point between maintenance, design engineering, and the test team - contractor and customer. Selected individual must be able to work under only general direction to determine and develop approaches to solutions; must be able to work both within a team environment and independently; must be self-motivated, thorough, and detailed; and must be willing to learn additional test discipline areas. Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant industry mission planning software. Overtime, odd shifts, and weekend work may occasionally be required. Basic Qualifications: Must have a high school diploma and 13 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Mission Planning in operations, flight test and/or training environment have a Bachelor degree AND 8 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Mission Planning in operations, flight test and/or training environment , OR a Master's degree AND 6 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Mission Planning in operations, flight test and/or training environment , OR a Ph.D. AND 4 years of related professional/military experience {to include a background in Mission Planning in operations, flight test and/or training environment. Experience with mission planning, execution, and debriefing. Must have an active US Government Top Secret clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation). Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with mission planning tools i.e. JMPS, PFPS, AFMSS. Experience with unmanned systems. Experience as a US Air Force Pilot/Navigator/Mission Planner/CSO, US Navy or USMC Naval Flight Officer (NFO), or equivalent (Intelligence support to flight operations considered). FAA rating desired but not required. Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
