Job Description Responsibilities Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software components and applications for Grid Software and power system solutions. Drive the implementation of complex features using C++, Java, and modern software technologies , ensuring adherence to architecture standards and engineering best practices. Lead code refactoring, modernization, and technical debt reduction initiatives to enhance maintainability, scalability, security, and performance. Collaborate with architects, product managers, and domain experts to define technical solutions and deliver high-quality software. Translate complex power systems and utility business requirements into robust, scalable, and reliable software solutions. Design and implement advanced algorithms, data structures, and analytical functions across product modules. Provide technical leadership through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers. Champion Agile development practices, CI/CD, automated testing, cybersecurity, and software quality standards throughout the development lifecycle. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex application performance issues, software defects, and customer-reported problems. Partner with cross-functional global teams to deliver strategic product enhancements with high quality and predictable execution. Desired Characteristics Strong expertise in C++ and/or Java with a deep understanding of software engineering principles and best practices. Proven experience developing and maintaining large-scale enterprise software products and complex codebases. Strong knowledge of software architecture, refactoring, design patterns, code quality frameworks, and maintainable system design. Experience with modern full-stack technologies, REST APIs, databases, distributed systems, and web application development. Advanced understanding of object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques. Proficiency working in Linux and Windows development environments. Knowledge of power systems, EMS, SCADA, grid applications, utility operations, or energy management systems is highly desirable. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related STEM discipline. 5-8+ years of experience in software development, product engineering, or enterprise application development. Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining software using C++, Java, or similar object-oriented programming languages . Languages / Additional Experience Proven experience across the full software development lifecycle, including architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support. Strong experience with Agile methodologies, source control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. Experience leading software modernization, legacy application transformation, performance tuning, and maintainability initiatives. Strong understanding of databases, APIs, distributed systems, and enterprise application architectures. Exposure to cloud technologies, microservices, containerization, and modern web frameworks. Experience in power systems, utilities, industrial control systems, EMS, DMS, SCADA, GridOS, or related domains is preferred. Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead technical initiatives, mentor team members, and drive delivery in a collaborative engineering environment.
