Senior/Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Cork, Ireland – Onsite

Our client is a global semiconductor and technology leader developing next-generation SoC and computing platforms. As a Staff Embedded Software Engineer, you will join a growing Core Platforms team working on low-level software at the intersection of silicon, hardware and Linux.

The Staff Embedded Software Engineer will play a key role in developing and integrating platform software, working closely with hardware and architecture teams. This is an excellent opportunity for a Staff Embedded Software Engineer to work on complex, high-performance technologies within a highly technical engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and debug low-level Linux kernel and platform software.
• Work on PCIe and SoC platform technologies.
• Support hardware/software integration and platform bring-up.
• Contribute to upstream and open-source Linux development.
• Collaborate with hardware, silicon and architecture teams.
• Provide technical leadership across platform software development.

Required Experience & Skills

Essential:

• 7+ years' embedded software development experience.
• Strong C / Embedded C programming skills.
• Hands-on Linux Kernel development.
• Strong PCIe / PCI Express experience.
• Experience with mainline Linux / upstream contributions.
• Experience working close to hardware, silicon or SoC platforms.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.

Desirable:

• UEFI, ACPI, bootloader or platform firmware experience.
• Yocto/OpenEmbedded.
• ARM/SoC architectures.
• Semiconductor, cloud or high-performance computing background.

Ideal candidates will be Staff/Senior Embedded Software Engineers, Linux Kernel Engineers or Platform Software Engineers with strong low-level C, Linux Kernel and PCIe experience.
