We've partnered with a hypergrowth, Y Combinator-backed AI recruiting platform to lead their search for a Staff Engineer.

🏢 About the Company

Their AI recruiter conducts live video interviews with candidates in real time, asking personalized follow-up questions based on each answer, with built-in fraud detection and note-taking. Companies use the platform to get the best hiring signal on their applicant pool and hire in a fraction of the time, across engineering, IT, retail, hospitality, and more.

They're fresh off a $17M Series A led by Peak XV Partners, taking them to roughly $20M raised in total with backers including Y Combinator. The team is around 50 people, and they landed a spot on CB Insights' 2026 list of the 100 most innovative AI startups.

The platform serves both sides: candidates through the interview experience, and employers through the data aggregation and analysis layer. As a hands-on engineer you'll build both consumer-facing and enterprise-grade software with a clear path for growth.

🎯 Role Responsibilities

• Build consumer-facing and enterprise-grade software
• Decrease interviewer response latency
• Scale system architecture
• Integrate with customers' internal hiring systems
• Present interview data visually and quickly
• Optimize and improve the conversational AI
• Launch products impacting people's careers
• Work directly with the co-founders in SF

🧩 Problems You'll Be Solving

Consumer side:
• How do we bring average interviewer response latency down to 200ms?
• How do we scale infrastructure to support 1,000 simultaneous interviews while staying compliant across geographies?
• How do we design a vector database to handle complex queries for candidates with specific traits?

Enterprise side:
• How do we integrate with customers' internal hiring systems?
• What's the best way to present interview data visually, as fast as possible?
• And many, many feature requests waiting to be built.

🛠 Stack

• Full-stack: React.js with TypeScript
• Python (FastAPI, concurrency, asyncio)
• Cloud / DevOps: Azure, Kubernetes, Docker
• Strong frontend design sense; experience in Figma
