Location: Salt Lake City, UT

Must-Have Skills

• Strong backend engineering using Java and/or Python

• Staff/Principal-level technical leadership experience

• Developer platforms / Developer Experience (DevEx)

• Internal developer tooling or engineering infrastructure

• Distributed systems and microservices

• API design

• CI/CD architecture and automation

• AWS, Azure or GCP

• Docker and Kubernetes

• Highly available backend systems

• Infrastructure/platform automation

• Observability: monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting

• Relational and NoSQL databases

• Angular / TypeScript familiarity

• Strong architecture, scalability, reliability, performance and security knowledge

• Ability to mentor engineers and influence multiple teams without direct authority

• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code

• Event-driven architecture and messaging

• GraphQL

• API gateways / service mesh

• Release/build engineering

Important: We need a true hands-on Staff Engineer, not simply a people manager. The candidate should be able to operate at both the architecture/strategy level and implementation level.
