Job Description Responsibilities Drive the technical execution and evolution of a Grid Software product, delivering reliable and scalable solutions for critical power system and utility applications. Design, develop, test, and maintain software components using C++, Java, and modern software development technologies , ensuring high quality and maintainability. Contribute to product architecture, technical design decisions, and modernization initiatives that improve performance, scalability, security, and long-term sustainability. Collaborate with architects, product managers, domain experts, and global engineering teams to translate business and customer requirements into robust software solutions. Lead the development of complex features, algorithms, and analytical capabilities that support advanced grid and power system operations. Champion engineering best practices, including code reviews, refactoring, automated testing, CI/CD, and secure software development. Mentor and support engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and problem-solving activities. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex product, performance, and production issues across the software stack. Drive continuous improvement in software quality, development processes, and team productivity. Work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver product commitments on time while maintaining a high standard of engineering excellence. Desired Characteristics Strong expertise in C++ and/or Java with a deep understanding of software engineering principles and enterprise application development. Proven experience contributing to the technical direction and delivery of complex software products and large codebases. Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, code quality, refactoring, and maintainable system design. Experience with modern full-stack technologies, REST APIs, databases, cloud-native development, and distributed systems. Strong knowledge of object-oriented design, algorithms, data structures, and performance optimization techniques. Experience working in Linux and Windows development environments. Understanding of power systems, transmission operations, energy management systems, grid applications, or utility business processes is highly desirable. Ability to translate domain knowledge and customer needs into practical and scalable software solutions. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving capabilities. Excellent collaboration, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder engagement skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related STEM discipline. 10+ years of experience in software development, enterprise application engineering, or software product development. Strong hands-on experience developing and maintaining software using C++, Java, or similar object-oriented programming languages . Experience working on large-scale, mission-critical software products throughout the full development lifecycle.
