Overview
A fast-growing AI marketplace is hiring Strategic Projects Leads to own high-value expert delivery projects for leading AI research companies.
This is a highly hands-on, client-facing role for someone early in their career who wants significant responsibility from day one. You’ll manage projects end-to-end, working directly with enterprise clients while recruiting and managing the experts needed to successfully fulfill each engagement.
The ideal candidate is scrappy, proactive, and an exceptional communicator. You should be comfortable figuring things out under tight deadlines, pushing back on clients when needed, and looking beyond individual tasks to identify ways the company can improve its product and delivery engine.
The company has grown from approximately 5 to 15 people in six months, is operating at an eight-figure annual run rate, and is preparing for its Series A.
Location: Downtown San Francisco, CA
Work Type: Full-time, in-person 5 days/week
Experience: 0–2 years
Compensation: $120,000–$160,000 base + $30,000–$50,000 performance bonus + equity

Responsibilities
- Own expert delivery projects end-to-end across human data and market research.
- Manage approximately 3–4 projects simultaneously across multiple client accounts.
- Own client communication, including proactive updates, expectation-setting, negotiations, and pushing back when appropriate.
- Act as a thought partner to clients on screening criteria, feasibility, and project execution.
- Recruit and reactivate experts from an internal network of 100,000+ professionals.
- Manage the expert experience and ensure projects are fulfilled successfully and on time.
- Diagnose bottlenecks such as expert drop-off, feasibility issues, and screening challenges.
- Get scrappy to fulfill difficult projects under tight deadlines.
- Partner with engineering to identify product improvements and opportunities for automation.
- Improve existing project delivery processes as the company scales.
- Grow client accounts by consistently delivering strong results and building trusted relationships.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in consulting, project delivery, operations, startups, or another high-intensity environment.
- Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
- Exceptional communication skills and confidence interacting directly with enterprise clients.
- Able to push back and negotiate while maintaining strong client relationships.
- Scrappy, proactive, and comfortable owning projects from beginning to end.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to operate effectively under tight deadlines.
- Comfortable getting hands-on with expert recruitment and project fulfillment.
- Able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Naturally looks for ways to improve processes and products rather than simply executing assigned tasks.
- High-growth startup, consulting, marketplace, staffing, or expert-network experience is a plus.
- Must be able to work in-person five days per week in downtown San Francisco.
