We are working with an established engineering consultancy in regional New South Wales looking to add an experienced Structural Engineer to its team.

This is a hands-on design role offering a genuinely varied workload across residential, commercial and industrial projects. You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from structural analysis and design through to client meetings and site inspections.

The business has a strong and consistent project pipeline and is looking for someone comfortable managing their own workload while working as part of an experienced engineering team.

The role

You’ll be responsible for:

• Structural design across residential, commercial and industrial projects
• Steel, timber and concrete design
• Structural calculations using SpaceGass and spreadsheets
• Preparing and reviewing drawings using AutoCAD
• Site inspections and client meetings
• Managing your own portfolio of active projects
• Working across everything from residential structures through to commercial buildings, manufacturing facilities and concrete structures
• Applying relevant Australian Standards and design codes
• Working closely with senior engineering staff and the company leadership

What we're looking for

Ideally, you will have:

• 5+ years' structural engineering experience
• Experience across residential, commercial and/or industrial structures
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Experience with SpaceGass, or similar structural analysis software
• Strong understanding of steel, timber and concrete design
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, or the ability to quickly transition from NZ Standards
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to manage projects and your own workload
• A practical, self-directed approach to engineering

New Zealand-based Structural Engineers interested in moving across the Tasman are encouraged to apply.

Package & flexibility

• $110,000–$125,000 + super, depending on experience
• 37.5-hour working week
• Flexible starting time from 7am
• Potential for 1–2 days working remotely depending on experience
• Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate
